It is the mirror, they tend to make most stuff up.
2010-10-21 22:34:02
English media not doing their homework, I am shocked!!!
[/sarcasm]

Great support from the Lech Poznan fans I must say.
2010-10-21 22:37:08
If sports were about the supporters, then we would get some medals from time to time I guess. :)

Aren't all clubs full of young players that don't quite make the grade? United must assess hundreds every season. I am pretty sure that just because they aren't top of the league doesn't mean they are doomed to failure.

As for Rooney, we all know thinking isn't his strong suit and his timing is appalling. There doesn't seem to be a club on Earth that can either afford him or want him, especially as he is having a slow season. The only team in the frame is Man. City and they would be as stupid signing him as he would be playing for them!

Good win against Bolton...

UP THE TABLE WE GO!!!!!
2010-10-31 21:39:48
Hooray for Maxi Rodriguez!!!!

The first useful thing he's done this season :)
2010-10-31 21:52:45
good result? yes. Good win/performance? No

Had it on 5L on the commentators never said a good thing about the liverpool performance. They actually sounded like they would have been happy to gouge their eyes out rather than watch the game
2010-10-31 22:02:02
A win is a win....Yes they played pants... but kept Bolton from scoring.....

And in there current position it is a good win..
2010-10-31 22:34:20
yes, bolton are a good team, it is hard to beat bolton at the reebok, fantastic 3 points. hopefully the rafa loyallists will shut up and get behing woy now :)
2010-11-01 14:29:19
aye. I've always been behind Roy. If we can beat the blue London scum on Sunday we'lll go even higher
2010-11-01 15:57:33
You playing Queens Park Rangers already ? Surely that's next season !
2010-11-01 16:46:40
Some people are easily pleased. A late lucky/brilliant bit of skill in another boring negative match isn't enough to lift my long term confidence in Hodgson. That was his first away win in 14 months and something like 24 games which is not going to be anywhere good enough if Liverpool ever hope to get back into the top 4, even the more level Rafa haters admit that Rafa was way better then that.
2010-11-01 16:56:58
Your right Hodgson has a lot to prove.

This was a vital win like we have already stated....

Man U can play shit and still win......So can we...

Oh and ignore Nortwit...He needs his 50p worth
2010-11-01 17:24:02
yes rafa was great to an extent, winning the champs league with houliers team, selling owen and murphy, bringing in josemi and pellegrino. fair play he bought in alonso garcia and torres, but you mst admit he bought somr bloody awful players for a LOT of money. then he completely ruined the clubs academy. i can go on all day but i wont. i personally dont want him anywere near the club again @:)
2010-11-01 17:35:04
yeah. Selling Luis Garcia and Alonso was a disaster on an epic scale.

Oh, and Reina was a great buy too :)
2010-11-01 20:22:32
Wow you really do spout some bollocks and can't see the wood for the trees at all.

He overachieved with Houlier's ageing team and had little choice in selling Owen seeing that he stated that he wanted away and had 1 year left on his contract which he was willing to run down just like Mcmanaman had done before him. Anyway what has Owen and Murphy done since leaving seeing that you think they were obviously class and better then what Rafa assembled before leaving.

Come to think of it what has any of Houlier's great team achieved since Rafa replaced them? To save you some time researching these are the first team that are no longer at Liverpool.........

Jerzy Dudek
Stéphane Henchoz
Steve Finnan
Sami Hyypiä
Milan Baroš
Harry Kewell
Emile Heskey
El Hadji Diouf
Michael Owen
Vladimír Šmicer
Paul Jones
Danny Murphy
Salif Diao
Dietmar Hamann
John Arne Riise
Anthony Le Tallec
Djimi Traoré
Chris Kirkland
Florent Sinama-Pongolle
Igor Bišćan
Richie Partridge
Bruno Cheyrou
Patrice Luzi
John Welsh
Neil Mellor
Darren Potter
Jon Otsemobor
Paul Harrison

Rafa had to totally rebuild and you can't do that all in one go unless you have the sort of bottomless pit of money that Chelsea and now Man City have. That means that while it's nice to have a team full of great players you have to step the quality up bit by bit and wheel and deal which he did an outstanding job with. It also means that for squad depth you have to sometimes take what you get get with your budget restrictions and sign a few free players for the short term like Pellegrino, Voronin and Degan. Josemi was another of those stop gap players unless you are suggesting that 2mill buys you a top class full back?

Saying Rafa spent a LOT of money is while true very somewhat shady, everyone spends a lot of money as seasons pass especially at the top and it's not taking into account net spend so if you are having to wheel and deal to raise the quality of the team your bought and sold are a LOT.

I get sick of seeing rubbish like this is lazy if nothing else to just spout crap without looking further into things, Alan Hansen should know better as well as other ex Liverpool players but they all seems to spout the same baseless crap. My memory is not great these days but I believe Rafa's net spend was something like 14 mill a season while he was at Liverpool and that included restocking the youth and reserve team too which is a fairly ordinary net spend for EPL teams. Liverpool actually made a profit in each of the last 4 transfer windows which should actually show how well they have done while other have been outspending them.

Are you seriously saying that only Rafa has bought some duds?

"then he completely ruined the clubs academy"
