Subject: Joe Cole?
Wow you really do spout some bollocks and can't see the wood for the trees at all.
He overachieved with Houlier's ageing team and had little choice in selling Owen seeing that he stated that he wanted away and had 1 year left on his contract which he was willing to run down just like Mcmanaman had done before him. Anyway what has Owen and Murphy done since leaving seeing that you think they were obviously class and better then what Rafa assembled before leaving.
Come to think of it what has any of Houlier's great team achieved since Rafa replaced them? To save you some time researching these are the first team that are no longer at Liverpool.........

Rafa had to totally rebuild and you can't do that all in one go unless you have the sort of bottomless pit of money that Chelsea and now Man City have. That means that while it's nice to have a team full of great players you have to step the quality up bit by bit and wheel and deal which he did an outstanding job with. It also means that for squad depth you have to sometimes take what you get get with your budget restrictions and sign a few free players for the short term like Pellegrino, Voronin and Degan. Josemi was another of those stop gap players unless you are suggesting that 2mill buys you a top class full back?
Saying Rafa spent a LOT of money is while true very somewhat shady, everyone spends a lot of money as seasons pass especially at the top and it's not taking into account net spend so if you are having to wheel and deal to raise the quality of the team your bought and sold are a LOT.
I get sick of seeing rubbish like this is lazy if nothing else to just spout crap without looking further into things, Alan Hansen should know better as well as other ex Liverpool players but they all seems to spout the same baseless crap. My memory is not great these days but I believe Rafa's net spend was something like 14 mill a season while he was at Liverpool and that included restocking the youth and reserve team too which is a fairly ordinary net spend for EPL teams. Liverpool actually made a profit in each of the last 4 transfer windows which should actually show how well they have done while other have been outspending them.
Are you seriously saying that only Rafa has bought some duds?
"then he completely ruined the clubs academy"

Are you aware of how pathetic you sound?

I didn't start this fire I'm just dousing pockets of flames that keep appearing. To be fair the people that I am responding to are only repeating the rubbish that the media keep churning out because they are too lazy to research or simply want to keep stirring it to sell papers ect but I wish people would try to look into things themselves instead of just taking what the media say as the truth.
Anyway some might find this interesting and current as regards some of these issues, if links to outside sites are not allowed feel free to moderate.

True, opinions can be and are often different, it just gets me when things said are factually incorrect.
We have the new owners but for me we need to replace the manager for a clean start to hopefully a successful era. I believe the clause in Hodgson's contract is active until the 15th November or thereabouts, if he doesn't go by then it seems logical that he would stay at least the rest of the season which fills me with dread seeing that he thinks we need at least 5/6 players in January.

Does it worry you that turricant and mattius get twice the vote you get wenlock ?
it worries me.
it worries me.
That's because the people who agree with Wenlock like to keep quiet and laugh at the ridiculous, unpunctuated, barely legible comments that come from some "Liverpool fans". You call him pathetic, i just think he actually likes to know what he's talking about when it comes to a club he loves rather than just listening to the media dribble that comes out the newspapers and sky sports!
The fact that you're a Norwich fan worries me ;-)

Rodriguez saved your arse against bolton :P
Also, saying N'gog is a sort of decent signing is a bit weird, he seems useless every time I see him play.

Look at every other match Maxi Rodriguez has played in, then tell me he's a good player
Amen, maxi is crap even if he did save us at the weekend
Jonjo shelvey looks an awesome player, confident on the ball and likes to get forward, a better version of fat frank, even if he is 17 and bald as a coot.

Twice the vote?
Wenlock has some really valid points.
Respect is due.

Err, that was kind of my point.
It worries me that you and mattius have twice the say in who runs this country than he does, as he probably has a hundred times more idea of who should.

its just differences of opinion, neither is right or wrong. but if you think that, you are very wrong.
nothing personal mattius old chap, just that some are more capable than others.
