I looked on his family tree and he said that he was a only child.....But you never know!

I do have a brother but we keep him in the attic where he swings on an old tyre all day.
It is clearly written in the NZ family history.

The question which should have been asked, is are you from naaaaaaaarrrrrrrrcccccch.
no. the other thing the family tree shows is that no one begat a relative or several.
That is a weird family tree......
Jaize from Norwich....He is way to cool for that!

With such a small net spend too. Credit to you for searching out a list but some of the prices are wrong I think, just off the top of my head the press at the time were saying that Skrtel was a record signing for a defender for Liverpool at 6m which means Agger (who came before him) had to be less then that and not 8.5m that you have for him on that list.
As I said previously Rafa rebuilt the reserves ect as well as the first team and if your budget isn't there for players that you need then you in the short term just have to sign what you can to do the job hence all those free transfers and small amounts on the list, when you strip out all those free transfers and cheap signings that list is reduced hugely. In an age when 10m plus players are common place and quality often costs 20m plus it's amazing how many of Rafa's signings were under 10m.
One of Alan Hansen's digs at Rafa was that he hasn't signed any quality for under 10m but after it was pointed out to him that Rafa has signed plenty for under 10m he moved the goalposts and said for under 5m, let's face it how many signings under 5m from anyone regularly turn out to be world class even quality youngsters often cost way more then that.
I won't go through your list player by player because it's pretty pointless to afterall how do you judge if a player was good or not? If a player went for more then he had been bought for then he could be classed as a success and sometimes players simply do not settle which doesn't make then crap at all. Morientes fits that straight away, he was regarded as class and most people thought that he would be a great signing but he just didn't adapt to England. Of course he isn't the first not to have just look at Crespo, Shevshenko, Forlan, Veron ect.
Looking at that small list of yours Aquilani ended last season as the second top assister at 'pool despite his injury problems. The medical staff at Liverpool announced that his ankle was sorted out completely for the first time since he arrived in preseason but sadly he didn't get a chance to show what he could do when fully fit because RH shipped him out on loan without even a loan fee and even payed Juve a sizable chunk of money for a 31 year old that they were not even playing. Apparently lots of Juve fans paid hommage to RH by changing their avatars to pictures of him on the club's forums as a thank you and Aquilani has been playing very well by all accounts so far.
Sissoko did well while at Liverpool, went for more then he was bought for and has been playing well in Italy since going so I can't understand him being on your list.
Babel is an enigma. He was very highly regarded when Liverpool got him and had a decent first season but has not shone since really. He has the speed and frame plus the potential but I feel his problem is that he simply doesn't apply himself properly. He should know before the ball arrives what he is going to do with it but doesn't seem to and then can't make his mind up what to do and often looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights.
I actually liked Riera when he first came but he blew it big time with his attitude sadly. It wasn't just the press statement at the end that was the problem but he apparently beat up Pacheco in training too, how brave of him to fight with a teenager half his size.
Keane was just one big balls up from start to finish. Rafa had just signed a new contract and was promised cash. He was asked for a couple of names and said Barry and Keane thinking that he would get both for a reasonable fee each. Liverpool pulled out of the Barry transfer when the amounts asked for got truly silly but then Keane was signed for more when Rafa's main want was Barry for his utility value. I don't blame Rafa for that transfer, it wasn't him counting the cash out. Liverpool didn't have the luxury that some other clubs often have to give players time to settle what with their finances and cut their losses, the add ons where never achieved in the contract so the fees were not as high as the press said for Keane just like with Aquilani's transfer.
"Benitez started well, but that was it."
The problems started when the cancer owners took over and Liverpool had to make profits in transfer windows just to pay off interest.
"The likes of Kirkland, Carson and Heskey's careers were ruined by Benitez."
Kirkland spent a lot of time injured and they have all played for England recently so I can't see how their careers were ruined.
"I hate to break the news to you, but the academy is failing and the squad is very old, and taking Hodgson's signings out of the equation the squad is still very old."
It's opinions I guess but the youngsters have been in demand for loans so they can't be that bad and Fulham took two of the better ones as part of the Konchesky farce. As for an old squad it's not too bad barring the new signings and would have been even younger with Insua. Insua and Ngog are also part of the youth system really too which makes it even better or it should have been seeing Insua's been all but given away.

You're right of course mattius. You could have written the post just above this one, just as well as wenlock has, couldn't you ?...
;-).
;-).
i would but time is short and i already have my english litarature O leve,l so i know i am capable of writing out my thoughts, but i choose not too, i prefer to keep things short and sweet.
:)
:)
Having done English Language and Literature at GCSE, both to 'A' grades, I honestly would say Literature was a lot of analysis based work on texts, whereas Language was where they taught us advanced writing skills (as advanced as GCSE gets - no way I was continuing to A level though.)
But apart from being pedantic, wenlock seems to make his point in a more eloquent way than Rhys, you, or Turricantg.
