OK, this is the plan to get the ultimate Premiership team. We'll assume a classic 4-4-2 formation, and will vote for the best player in each position from my hand crafted list of 10. This can be the best player via whatever you think matters - skill, appearances, performances, one off performance etc.

Lets start with goalkeepers....here is the 10 to choose from!

A few positions are going to be fairly simple aren't they, this one looks a tough one.

You're struggling to look past Martyn, Seamen and Schmeichel though.

was going to vote for given, but went for seaman. Anyone but Schmeichel, overrated fom what i've seen of him in highlights and stuff.

nah, you are wrong. I went for given as I like watching athletic and spectacular saves and Shay's superb reactions give just that, but in his day Schmeichel was an absolute monster and second to none at controlling his area.

Highlights and stuff are not good enough, I bet you believe everything you read on Wikipedia too...

nah, it's just everytime espn show their goals of the decade or whatever, about 10 million of them are of Schmeichel being lobbed or chipped or beaten from range and whenever i see the best bits of him, they're all saves i've seen other keepers pull and would expect him to make.

You should watch a few clips of Schmeichel when a striker is one on one against him, his accelaration and ability to cover space was quite exceptional, he also had the ability to catch the ball where almost all others would parry.

Joint most clean sheets last season even with the club's poor season and that after winning the golden gloves for the previous 3 seasons.

i'd prefer to not go back and see a manc doing well, it actually physically pains me. The only time i want to see him be good is on the little i got sent on my phone when we beat them 5-0 and he made a better than good double save from Beardsley and Ferdinand before Shearer put it in.
