With about an hour left, I think, here are the big movers so far :

1603: DEADLINE DAY'S BIGGEST DONE DEALS SO FAR:

Marcus Bent [Birmingham - Wolves] Loan
Salif Diao [unattached - Stoke]
Alexander Hleb [Barcelona - Birmingham] Loan
Martin Jiranek [Spartak Moscow - Birmingham] Undisclosed
Paul Konchesky [Fulham - Liverpool] Player exchange
Zurab Khizanishvili [Blackburn - Reading] Loan
Rodrigo Moreno [Benfica - Bolton] Loan
Matt Phillips [Wycombe - Blackpool] £325,000
Stipe Pletikosa [Spartak Moscow - Tottenham] Loan
Gylfi Sigurdsson [Reading - Hoffenheim] £6m
Anthony Stokes [Hibernian - Celtic] Undisclosed

Alexander Hleb, formerly of Arsenal and Barcelona, also had talks with Spurs, Liverpool and Benfica, but "Birmingham want to do the deal more". Where have Birmingham found that kind of money ?

Birmingham are going to be in Europe at this rate.

Been a bit crap really aint it
2010-08-31 17:23:25
Nothin on young, thank god!
2010-08-31 17:44:14
yes.

and yes.

I'm hoping that once the 25 man squads are settled, that there will be some decent loan signings available for championship teams. Should improve the level of football.

Wolves signed Bent.

Still who else are you going to get to be 4th choice striker on fairly decent wages and a fair amount of games in the top flight, luckily Wolves did all their permanent stuff about 17 years ago, so no worries.
2010-08-31 22:01:23
anyone who leaves it this late runs serious risk of not getting the squad to gel. It's a gamble.
2010-08-31 22:30:29
Van der Vaart to Spurs?
2010-08-31 23:17:57
T'rific signing if it goes through.
2010-09-01 11:17:16
Wasn't he a dutch detective from the 70s ?
2010-09-01 13:25:16
Hmmmmmm thats strange no new players for Norwich?
2010-09-01 14:22:54
All our new players arrived in June / July, and we now have a balanced, match-fit, functioning team, as can be seen from early results.

Half your new arrivals will only have seen each other on match of the day.

you were lucky against Swansea :(
2010-09-01 14:56:41
And unlucky against Nottingham Forest. Swings and roundabouts. And anyway, Swansea didn't score did they ? Just as they were the lowest scorers in the top 20 teams last season. Boring team if you ask me. So were they unlucky not to draw ?

we did score, just in the wrong end. Boring team we may be, but Chelsea were never exciting under Mourinho and look at them. 2 top 10 finishes after promotion from League 1 in 2 seasons shows the class of Swansea. I'm still not convinced by Brendan Rodgers though.

Swansea have probably the best defence in the division, but they also score less than a goal a game on average. Good if you fancy a punt on the final score, but bad if you're a neutral. I don't know how you can say we were lucky if you didn't score any goals :s...

an own goal and a fluke in the last 10 minutes :P
