how do i do that? im really not good with computers
right click your start button.
click explore.
find the c: drive. right click on it.
click on properties.
one of the tabs along the top of the properties page will be "Tools". Click on Tools.
One of the options is "Defragment".
If you've had the computer a while, this could take hours. But it might not be the problem.
Make sure you've got all the windows updates relating to "malicious software protection". i think it is.
If someone has messed with your virtual memory settings, or if the hard drive is nearly full (you should see this in windows explorer), then the computer will be slow.
hope this helps.

thx for the easy steps to follow...its currently defragmenting now so we shall see,i dunno why it wouldjust stop running properly....i bet its something down to virgin media's sh*t internet broadband
you can always do a speed test to see what your internet is doing.
If it is good then the computer is the problem

problem seemed to of sorted itself out,no doubt it was due to my dodgy internet broadband...thanks all for the input
