The fascists have finally started to start blocking access to various websites.
So far I've been blocked from sites categorised as Illegal or Unethical (Pirate Bay), gambling (William Hill), Peer-to-Peer File Sharing (bittorrent) and Adult Materials (Ann Summers).
I stress that all of the above were purely in the interest of finding out what is being blocked. My activity log will be interesting when they read it.
If anyone has any suggestions for other banned categories, do feel free to share..

I remember Youtube (Adult content) as a favourite back in school.
Also we had 'Active-Adapt' which, would block a website if it contained banned words such as... cats, lol, funny and game. Game was a right pain during my ICT, where I had to do research on famous FPS games whilst trying to find pages with out the word game in it.

Well, so far they don't appear to have cottoned on to games, but I was just speaking to one of the IT guys and he reckons things will get more restrictive.
It will be a sad day indeed when I no longer get to play for the first hour each morning.. And the ones either side of lunch, plus the bit before the end.

Easiest way is to use a memory stick with .swf files on if you want games. Open with Internet Explorer obviously.
when i was in school it was all about redtube, but lets not go there..
sokker was banned from my work over a year ago. Very strict in nhs
we used to play a game with the restrictions.
Each banned page would give a DDR score whatever that is and if you got to 1,000 your computer would just lock you out completely. The aim was obviously to see how close you could to 1000 without dying. Naturally, we all turned into blackjack addicts after that.

when I was at school it was all about confiscating porn mags...
my work has blocked sokker, but also youtube, facebook, and nearly every forum.
But being the plebs they are, they have a wifi channel for our customers that is more open ;)

My work block Sokker too, and pretty much anything with "game" in it. No YouTube either but Facebook works :/
We've had our broadband cut off at home becuase I refused to cover a flatmate's share, again, so if work do get their fascist knickers in a twist over games, then I'll be somewhat inconvenienced.
They've just started recording all phone calls and keeping them on file for up to 2 years. Boo.
