Yep!
Mrs. RedJim and I are going, along with a noisy crowd of her mates. The lineup looks good this year too

Already done a Glasto playlist on my ipod to get me in the mood. Doves - Pounding is on right now. What a quality choon.
Ah, I love the Doves - they're a must see for me. If you haven't heard it, try and get a copy of their new album; it's excellent!
I will be doing so. My brother went to see them in brixton a couple of weeks ago and said they were "awesome". And he has seen A LOT of bands, so I'll take his recommendation on face value and assume that they are indeed awesome.
No glasto this year. I have managed to procure tickets for V and Reading, which are on consecutive weekends in August. It'll be raining knowing english weather.
But on the up side:
Paul Weller!
Hard Fi!
Radiohead!
Beck!
We Are Scientists!
Kaiser Chiefs!
Audioslave!
Muse!
Arctic Monkeys!
The Streets!
Feeder!
Dirty Pretty Things!
Futureheads!
Pearl Jam!
Maxïmo Park!
The Kooks!
Goldie Lookin' Chain!
Sugababes!
And many more...
Anyone else going to either of these? Venues: Stafford and Reading, btw.

I'd consider going for Radiohead alone.
I enjoy their wrist-slitting epics.

Don't think I'll be moving much on day 2 at reading:
MUSE
ARCTIC MONKEYS
THE STREETS
FEEDER
DIRTY PRETTY THINGS
THE FUTUREHEADS
Excuse the capitals, it's a copy and paste and I can't be arsed sorting it out.

I've got tickets to Reading :-) Completely different sort of festival to Glasto, but it was good last year, apert from the drunken bastatrd kids everywhere.
Our lot all take collapsible camp chair things and have an england flag on the top of a massive pole so you can always find your way back to the group. There must have been about 6 times that weekend some kids would snatch the flagpole as the walked past and try to nab the flag.
Chasing them down was quality entertainment though; although towards the end it was too much effort whilst half-cut and stoned and also was a right bugger finding everyone again without the flag actually being up to mark it. Tsk.
True story, hows about that.

You couldn't make it up.
We had a skull and crossbones. Hardly original, but it worked. (this was at glasto)
In what way is Reading "completely different sort of festival to glasto"?

Glasto is a smokers festival (chilled out & paceless)
Reading is a drinker's festival (hyperactive & raucous)
It's hard to define as the people I've always gone to Glasto with aren't the ones I went to Reading with last year so that makes a difference.
You get a lot more trouble at Reading and there's a kind of mutinous atmosphere like everyone's about to riot or something, and there are loads more people getting pissed rather than sitting on rugs in the sun smoking.
And the kids; they've all finished their GCSEs and ALevels and run around like drunken screaming monkeys.
Don't get me wrong; Reading was a good laugh last year, expect more of the same this year. It's just v different to Glastonbury imo - perhaps more of a camping gig sort of thing than a festival. Guess it depends what you mean by festival.
Other good thing about Reading is that the town centre isn't far away so you can always nip out and get pub lunches and not have to spend the entire weekend in a field.

Getting excited now! 6 weeks to V and 7 to Reading.
I have a "festivals 2006" playlist on my ipod this year and there are currently 508 songs on there. That's without me putting all my feeder and all my Pearl Jam on there, because I could probably muster about 250 songs just with those two.
On the basis of downloads and stuff since starting this playlist, I have discovered many bands. I have also discovered that I absolutely blummin LOVE the futureheads. They are so good it is unbelievable. Although I feel sure Forestman will disagree on the basis of his wife's heritage.
