I have just stumbled across a game called hattrick ;)

Well I have rejoined after 5 years away.

I am in vi.123

Hints and tips appreciated, especially this new junior school malarkey, best training regime and market prices

;)

It was my first manager game...I am doing ok there...I mean my ratings go like this:

Rating details
Solihull FC
Midfield solid (low)
Right defence brilliant (very low)
Central defence magnificent (very low)
Left defence brilliant (high)
Right attack outstanding (very low)
Central attack inadequate (very high)
Left attack poor (low)

Series : V.162

Ask me...the junior school is the best thing there...it allows you to get good trainees from youth squad...the training regime ...for main team at the beginning is keeper as you can get excelent 17 y old keepers with high set pices and at least inadequate def for cheap money ... after switch to what playing plan suits you best ...for ex:

I have an attacking prone coach (get attack bonus) and I train def...that is why I get good def rating (good players) and a good attack rating (on one side with poor players).

However hattrick is all about midfield. Best mid rating wins all the time...for example:

if you had all round divine def
all round divine attack
and if possible disastrous mid

and opposite team just weak mid and all other 2-3 ratings under yours you will loose 8 out of 10 in that match. No matter what other stats that team had. That is why you will see ppl play at least 4 mids all the time.

When you train mid you are making the big money...

get a solid coach as a start.

Train keeper 1 sez and then set pieces and then def = NT keeper. (depends on nationality) but players pop quite often in hattrick....hence the ratings in league 5 so high...league 4 and 3 would have quite a few devine players and that is wierd...

I used to play hattrick many years ago., so have defaulted on "old-hattrick" so my tactics are Attack in Middle and I have 2 wingers set to middle. This gives me a poor midfield, which at least means that I dominate the bots.

I have some questions.

1. You say to get a solid coach. Maybe later but seems expensive for now, as I have a passable one. You only start with £133,333 cash. If I bought a solid coach, I would have spent all my money and some, so not an option at the moment?

2. keeper training: - You mention getting 17yo Excellent keepers with set pieces for "cheap money" - but considering that two passable 18yo keepers cost me > £10k - maybe again, "cheap money" is more than I have today? How much do you mean by cheap? £100k? £200k?

3. The youth squad system costs quite a bit each week - I am not sure if I can afford it as in a new team - useful insight from others on how much it costs, so I can work out when I can afford....

4. My coach is attack favoured, so I get a boost there right? So best weirdly in a team light on strikers???

Ta!

Antti Saarinen Bought Fire Blast 2007 60 000 £ 2 040

Was an excelent keeper
14.12.2010

11-05-2011 Antti Saarinen Sold Great Oak FC 1 140 667 £ 15 030
He missed a lot of training...was supranatural with outstanding set p and inadequate def.

Don't be scared to go into dept if you get 2 good keeper trainees. As for the coach...passable is good for now but after the first sale (sale at brilliant keeper at 18 and you are done for cash)

What I am trying to say is that to get a fast cash boost you just need to train one 17 y old to briliant at 18 and that gives you enough founds to set the team up. So spend 100k if you must on a good trainee and then he will pay back. Spend 200k (get in dept) and you get to keep a player for your squad.

Youth scouting costs you (3 scouts) around 14k/week = 210 k per season but the plus is that in that youth school you know the players talents (some of them from beginning and the rest later on) and you have specific training for 2 skills for ex : goalkeeping and defending => that means you can look for keepers with scouts - train them so that at 17 they will be excellent (max) keepers with inadequate or pass or even solid def ...sometimes also good on set pieces and you don't buy your trainees any more. You can make the 200k easily back from selling your youth without training them after you promote them to 1st team.

If you are not having good strikers see if one of them has at least pass winger skills. Get one attack side strong and with the attack minded bonus ...you will score loads.

Let me explain how hattrick works:

The ME compares mid ratings to see who gets most chances - lets say the game has 40 chances if you have poor mid against disastrous mid you would have 25 and he will have 15. (just an example)
Then the conversion of chances (goals) are by comparing att ratings with def ratings. Left side attack to opposite right side def...and so on. If you manage to beat his def rating on 1 side you will score some goals...there are some other things there but are more complicated such as ...someone with many chances will eventually score no matter the ratings (hattrick luck). Knowing that can help you in your tactics.

Hattrick makes money easier than sokker but the hard bit is later on... good mids have huge salaries (that is just sick) so after promotion you will need a lot of spare weekly money to pay for those salaries...that is why training mids is the best. (I pay for my 2 mythical mids 47k each salaries/week).

Hattrick is boring ...no development into having a real viewer...that is why I only log in now and then...

If you want a cool manager (hardcore) try trophymanager

Or simply the hattrick name to the sokker game. The name sokker is lame.

I have had a hattrick team for ages, have lots of cash but lack of interest to invest it. Maybe a match viewer could appear in the future.

Btw, the advertisement on hattrick has made the game worse. It makes it slow and takes too much space...
