Thought I'd start a cricket thread.

First, a joke:
What do you call an aussie cricketer with a hundred next to his name?
A bowler

Ind v Aus at the moment is amusing me no end. Indians are 275-0 at the moment, and the debutant Indian opener has scored the fastest debut ton ever. Can't beat seeing the aussies getting hammered.

Also Eng v NZ is going well for us too! A good week all round for english cricket.

Never seen a match, have no idea about this game...I just know its like baseball just that the ball hits the ground and they have thicker bats. :)

But I would love to give it a try (anything with a bat its good for me)!

He's the reason I follow Middx. Love his approach to the game. Turns out to be quite cricket smart, too, if you listen to him on TMS.

BTW, I accuse you of using some sort of mobile device with autocorrect for your previous post.

Eng v NZ in the CT today (it's an ODI).

Billed as a "must win" by the media (as so many matches are), it's not a must win. It's a "must not lose", but that's not as sexy sounding.

Anyone planning to watch it?
2013-06-21 09:04:13
Yep, I plan to.

I wish I could...no cricket in Romania :((...just football on all sports channels and all internal as we have loads of scandals...best one ...my fav team is getting punished by UEFA for paying someone to win their match :((
2013-06-24 21:58:53
Better than paying to lose I guess.....

Well, a never-in-doubt England win settled by DRS, eh?

I just wonder if the third umpire's box was directly above one of the concession stands at Notts. Ganja-u-like or something. Some real odd decisions there.

Aussies whinging about not walking, spirit of the game type stuff! You couldn't make it up.
Their tenth wicket added 230 odd in the match, and all of a sudden it's going to be really even, apparently. Is everyone expecting the tenth wicket to do that every match? If they are, they're living in cloud cuckoo land. What about the top order? Are we expecting that level of failure from them every match? Well, yes. I am. Rogers is solid, and one other score from the top five in each innings. That is exactly what I would have expected.

So, to summarise, the Aussies nearly undeservedly got out of jail due to rubbish third umpring, a once in a lifetime innings and a decent tenth wicket partnership in the second innings. All three of these things will not happen again.

My prediciton, 10-0 England.
2013-07-16 20:13:09
I very much doubt it will be 10-0 but I still expect England to win both series comfortable enough.

Will be an interesting days batting today.

Am working from home so can have test match special on.

Schweeeet.
2013-07-19 10:19:09
Boo. I'm working from work later today, so I won't be able to quite as much.
2013-07-19 13:04:02
Working at work, when work is your home, it's the future I tell you.
2013-07-19 13:11:58
My boss is working from home so that allows me to listen through the net to Aggers and co.

Come on England! Have we been bowled yet? Had 320 last time I looked as just getting my mop trimmed.
2013-07-20 02:45:29
Bowled out, bowled them out, and three wickets gone in our second innings, too!
