Errr, except not really.
I may not have agreed with everything he's ever done, and I keep expecting his tribute to his past players to end "...except Diego Forlan," but he's got a hell of a record.
A good time to bow out. How he won the league so convincingly and so early this season considering the lack of ability in his squad is beyond me. His biggest achievement to date.
Enjoy the retirement, Fergie.

I can't stand the bloke so I'm happy he's gone :-) That being said, even I have to admit he's done an incredible job at a club that hadn't won the league for over 20 years before he strolled up ...
Not sure Moyes is the right appointment for them though if he does indeed get the call.

Yeah, I guess that EP will open the Deat to the Moyes Myth topic in no time :P
He's a solid coach, but I don't think that he will deliver at United. It seems that he hasn't got the skills for Cup achievements, judging on how Everton was doing in Europe or even national cups...
He also seems to have this need for wood-ish central midfielders, Fellaini was amazing as CM and still, he moved him to offensivie midfielder...it worked for a couple of games, but as soon as their opponents got used to it, suddenly Fellaini stopped to perform well on this position.

Being a top scorer with 11 goals is not that much of an achievement, or is it?
He scored his last goal on 2nd March...if you got further, next one on 2nd February...and then you have to move back, to 1st December 2012
hence: but as soon as their opponents got used to it, suddenly Fellaini stopped to perform well on this position
Compare that to Yakubu, who struggled for minutes at Moyes' Everton and as soon as he moved away to Blackburn, he scores 17 goals in the Prem

My opinion of Moyes is that his approach is "too defensive" for United. As in the United fans won't like to watch it and I'm sure they will let him know as much ...
The problem Moyes has got is that he will never win anything major with Everton as they simply don't have the funds to compete with the big spenders so in order to win trophies he has to move. Let's be honest, United is one of the few clubs where he has a chance of success so I wouldn't blame him. I just don't see it being a long term appointment sadly for David ... however, I've been wrong before ;-)
Funny enough, I think a much better fit for United would actually be Martin O'Neill, he managed Celtic extremely successfully and you can't get bigger than that in Scotland. I still think he's a top manager even if Sunderland did sack him and with Martin, he does try and play attacking football which the United fans would much prefer to watch.

Cmon EP. You could argue that a square has 3 corners. So where is the "ferg is a poor manager who got lucky because Man Utd have lots of money" argument?
It does have 3 corners though ;-)
Plus, an additional one ... ROTFLMAO :-)

His Man Utd consistently performed at a level above that which you'd expect for their wages. Can't argue with that.
The psychology of his management "style" leaves a lot to be desired though. Hairdryer treatments don't usually motivate people too well.
