Subject: World Cup Qualifying

I really hope we beat the Poles tonight as I wouldn't trust us in a playoff and a World Cup which we're not in is just not the same ... come on England!!!!!

Phew! We're off to Brazil :-)

Romania is off off to the qualifiers :).

Our chances are low and our coach is the worst ...but we will still get there.

Troy are you planing to go to Brazil for the WC?

The playoffs could have some very nasty looking fixtures depending on how they work out the seeding. From memory, I think this is the 8 teams?

France, Portugal, Greece, Sweden, Ukraine, Croatia, Romania, Iceland

Tbh, I think Romania will struggle to qualify especially if they get drawn with one of the following.
France, Portugal, Ukraine or Croatia.

All the teams will want to be drawn with Iceland and that's including Iceland ;-)

The bad news for you though is that the seedings are going to be based on the FIFA world rankings and currently (until they get updated tomorrow), Romania are 7th and Iceland are 8th out of the 8 teams in the playoffs.

As things stand, you would be set to face either Croatia, Portugal, Greece or Sweden. Therefore, you might be right to think that Romania will find a way to qualify as Croatia have just sacked their coach plus Greece and Sweden are hardly frightening prospects. The good news is that you wouldn't have the possibility of facing France or Ukraine.

You just have to avoid Portugal imho ...

Qstarw, some bad news for you. Sweden have dropped out of the top 4 to be replaced by Ukraine.

Pot1. Portugal, Greece, Croatia and Ukraine.
Pot2. France, Sweden, Romania and Iceland.

Ok, you want to see the best countries at the WC, but I have tbh, I would love to see France get drawn with Portugal ;-)
