well, put it another way, if you lose every game you'll still get some batting and bowling points. 2nd place will also drop batting and bowling points. work out how many batting and bowling points on average your opponent gets, add 14, and multiply it by 4.

In other words, if you're 60-70 points ahead, you're probably safe.

I'm 68 ahead, but third hasn't finished his game yet today. At least the points aren't on the table yet. Call it 55 ahead for argument's sake. One more win should put me clear. I can rest guys then and drift to a playoff, which I'll inevitably lose :(

I am guessing I might win it. Or at least get promoted as I am 83 clear of second and 101 clear of third. I can almost taste the thrashings I will get next season!
