Subject: Battrick
there's supposed to be, but I don't think the differences are large
They are supposed to be improving things so you can do more with pitch and orders
as well as make wicketkeepers and fielding more obviously useful
The whole game suffers from being a bit single skilled - this is one advantage SK has over HT or BT - the lack of single skill monsters or 'guns' as BT calls them
I shall keep playing though and see where it goes

Ideally, what you want from a cricket game is the ability to set your field, and move between attacking / defensive field settings depending on the game situation too. Also some kind of reporting on which areas of the pitch batsmen / bowlers are strongest / weakest would be useful. I guess this kind of stuff is tricky though. Some form of tactical editor like the one employed in Sokker would enable field settings and give the game an extra dimension. Anything else is just "roll a 6", or scissors / paper / rock in my opinion.

just training up players for U19 stuff for lesser countries atm
blackout is taking much more of my time of late, which is surprising seeing as ive never played rugby in my life

I find blackout really hard to get in to, with all the things you can change it is a right nightmare. All the different skills needed, and then you have height and weight, and then their discipline/style...then you get onto their fitness and stuff...aaaargh!
yeah, took me a couple of months to understand who were the backs and who were the forwards lol, presumed the forwards would be the ones scoring a lot but no :\
but now im into it im hooked :)
youve got one hell of a player though ;)

I just started a thread on battrick about sokker, so it would be great if some users who use battrick could keep the thread active!!
if only we had a thread on here to tell us about Battrick...
Its a little silly that we have a 215 page thread about BT, but haven't really advertised sokker within Battrick ourselves.
To be fair I think the jury is still out as to whether that thread positively advertises BT...
Yep true, personally I find BT pretty dull, but it does seem a bit pointless to quit!
there's a lot that could be done to improve it - I think they'll get there. Hopefully before I'm 50
I noticed I won my last one day game due to my opponents wicketkeeper. He gave up 17 byes to my 0 and that was all that really separated us. My WK is wonderful whereas his had a 2k rating. Nice to see they matter, even if only in these extreme disparities

Well my team is pretty much all sensational-exquisite, can't go any higher due to wage concerns!
How are the team ratings calculated? Even if my guys hit double centuries not out I seem to get worthless/feeble ratings. I thought, probably incorrectly, that the ratings were based on performance. Is it just based on their skill ratings? If so, I don't know why I get much higher bowling scores, as the skills are no different.
