I could go top of my league today. I'm one point off top and playing third place.

Anyone else got any interesting matches?

not really, don't think the leader will slip up..i beat him last week but didnt the first time round so not a huge amount to play for. Should hopefully finish 2nd if i beat my opponent today, he is 5 wickets down

Not much for me either. I drew my last game after forgetting to set my second innings declaration, so I can't catch the leader now. Still top of my one day league.

i'm getting very bored of this and feel like I am probably going to quit soon.

Sell all your players and train a ten net monster ;)

I am top and winning today.
but I need to win all the rest (and well) to promote as 2nd is close

Slow day in my match. Got them for 187 and scored 133-1 in reply. Less than three an over all round, but we are pretty evenly matched.

I stopped logging in at Christmas. Can't say I miss it in the slightest.

I quite enjoy it still - but it needs a lot of improvement to tactics at the minimum to keep interest

I treat the game more as a resource management game than anything else. Although that may have something to do with the fact that I know almost nothing about cricket. If they brought in field placement or other crickety stuff, I'd be lost..

field placement would be a piece of cake. Put your players where their batsman is most likely to hit the ball. Or if you have a really good bowler, put a lot of your players close to the batsman. Or if you want to stop the batsmen getting a lot of runs, put a lot of players on the boundaries.

Simple, really.

But what if my bowlers are spinners rather than fast? Do I try and match my lefties against their righties, and what about the pitch?
On the few occasions I actually watch cricket, I have no idea what the commentators are talking about.. 'The pitch is a bit green and the skies to the East look moisture bearing..' WTF??

A moist atmosphere helps your medium to fast bowlers swing the ball in the air before it lands.
A green wicket helps your pace bowlers get seam movement (ie lateral movement off the pitch as the ball bounces).

No need to match lefties and righties.

That's about it, I think.

I'll stick to football...

Cricket's immensely rewarding once you get into it, but it does take a bit of perseverance early on. I'd love a relatively optional field settings bit (like the tactics in here, I guess). You could perhaps select from some standard fields, or perhaps design your own fields. It'd get tough setting all the options before the match, though.

At the very least, they need to change the way declaration for the second innings works. There's too much guess work. I'd like to see something based on run rate.

I quite like it as a lightweight game, but it does seem rather random as it stands.
