Couple of pops on my youngest trainee today:

Shaun Zibonele - 17 yo, BT Rating=10,356
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, low
A steady player with feeble leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: proficient Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: competent Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: respectable

And a conc pop on my WK/Batsman to masterful (level 17).

As my league is very dull, I've just been thinking about next season's youth pull. He'll be a bowler. Am I better doing 12 ITS on bowling, fielding and cons (give or take one ITS somewhere) or should I do stamina, bowling and fielding? I'll train him to at least the end of his 20th year, if that makes any difference.

If you have loads of nets free dont put many on stamina. But i like my trainees to have high stamina over fielding as i would much rather train fielding as it increases the cons.

so i would go 12 cons and bowling for definite then either 11 stamina or 5 stamina 6 fielding

Well I always train fielding, and I take it as read that I'll have to train stamina to get it to superb.

Let's compare the two scenarios:

Player 1
Stamina: worthless Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: woeful Concentration: feeble
Bowling: respectable Consistency: respectable
Fielding: respectable

Player 2
Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: woeful Concentration: feeble
Bowling: respectable Consistency: worthless
Fielding: respectable

Now, if I pull both these at 17, and train both until the end of their 20th year, who will be better? I would have one stamina, one bowling and one fielding net. Once the stamina was superb, his stamina net would go to be a primary of my youngest trainee.

They'd both have superb stamina, but how much higher would the cons be on the first one?

I think with that theory you will be loosing time on primary of the first as the second will have 2 nets for longer.

So really the secondries of the first would stay the same distance infront of the second player but the second player would have a higher primary

I see what you are saying. So basically I have to try and work out how high the cons would be in the second case (0 ITS on cons) and decide if it's acceptable to me.
2007-03-19 15:18:47
I think over the next two seasons I'll pull one of each and see which I prefer when they are fully trained.
2007-03-19 15:20:54
Not a bad idea. you could always do something inbetween and do half on stamina half cons?
2007-03-19 15:21:54
Now you're making it really complicated!

Got a player with over 100k BTR now... :-O

well done though.

I've got 2.5 of them. One is over 99k and can be over 100k depending on form.

I'm getting more irate at the unintelligent commentary:

5.1 . Ritchie to Walters
Hmm, was that a bit of reverse swing for Ritchie there? Walters certainly looked concerned.

Reverse swing after 5 overs? Unlikely unless his bowler is bowling at like 95 mph. Most cricket fans associate reverse swing with the old ball, though, so why are we getting this commentary in the first 6 overs?
