Apart from having a picnic whilst Kent played in the background, I have observed others flapping about on various village greens. All of them seemed to shout out numbers. Not just four or six but others too. No idea why...

just tossed the coin in my first ever match.

What is the lowest score I can get? ;-)
2007-06-17 15:58:49
Just found this rubbish article about battrick. Thought some people in here might be able to read it all the way to the end without falling asleep ;)
2007-06-17 16:32:42
What i want to know is:

Single primary net, well fair enough. But how many trainees can you have?

If you want stamina, that is + 1 net, you also want fielding so + another net. If you have an all rounder that is + another net.

So with that you can train 1 bat (3 nets), 1 bowl(3 nets) and 1 all rounder (4 nets)

Doesn't this negate the 'fitness' argument until they have more stamina?

If you train with just 1 primary net and that is it, your fielding and stamina will be crap unless very high when buying.

I agree. Realistically, 3 or 4 trainees is the maximum number because of the need for stamina/fielding/more secondary. And if you only have decent three trainees, it completely alters the arguments over single/double primary netting.

Unless you are training to sell, an activity I find wholly pointless, but each to their own.
2007-06-17 21:50:11
He admitted himself he trained all rounders. So all he is saying is 1 primary net (per type) and no more. It doesn't stop him multi netting which is what everyone seems to think it means
(edited)
2007-06-17 22:03:45
Yes, that's exactly what I understood he meant by it. Double netting on a one primary skill is a viable alternative to single netting two primary skills if you don't have the all-rounder option.
2007-06-18 01:42:32
What do you need clarification on, I'm not sure I understand?

On the issue of trainees I have 9 trainees, one of them being an all-rounder. Each of the trainees only gets one batting/bowling net on their primary skill so as the all-rounder gets a net on both that totals my ten nets.

I do train primarily to sell, as a result I do not use any stamina or fielding nets. When I buy trainees, I always look to make sure they have stamina and fielding all-ready.

I don't usually buy 17 year old trainees myself, but rather 19 year old is mainly what I train from.
