Subject: Battrick

I'm batting second. It's nip and tuck:

End of Over 28: 173-2, runrate=6.18, reqrunrate=5.91 (302-2)

A win would be nice for my first match in div V :(

How's that old div of mine doing, NCN?

if cheadle were in it last season and were any good, it could be a walk-over for me.

I beat them by 240 runs.

Scabby Sixers have a bit of a run-chase against Highland Cheiftains

End of Over 38: 178-1, runrate=4.68, reqrunrate=5.50 (243-10)

Ditto Stormsurge Against Qwerty Village

End of Over 36: 219-2, runrate=6.08, reqrunrate=8.36 (335-2)

And the Terras beat Sheffield Lions by 7 wickets.

Any of those names mean anything ? Who out of that lot are any good ?

To be honest I've no idea how I'll get on till about week 5. The newly promoted teams always provide a few surprises, and the changes from TFL to PFL or whatever and First Class games should keep people on their toes.

Interesting one day game for me, playing a much weaker bowling lineup. Currently in the balance.

End of Over 40: 226-3, runrate=5.65, reqrunrate=7.00 (295-3)
Wright 10-0-62-3
Reid* 66 (77 balls)
Tate 10 (11 balls)

Depending on if i can get reid and tate out :)

And then they score 15 from one over...pfft.
2007-09-28 17:40:45
End of Over 45: 258-6, runrate=5.73, reqrunrate=9.00 (302-2)

My second best batsman is in, and well set. I'll still struggle, though.

Can you give me any details on any of my series mates, having been there last season, Woppa old chap ?

I'll have a look after my nail biter has finished. That's different from a chicken biter.

14 needed off 11 for me to win. This is the first game in yonks that actually has me excited!

Bloomin ell, right down to the wire...

End of Over 49: 292-6, runrate=5.96, reqrunrate=4.00 (295-3)
Haines 10-0-67-3
Wilks* 1 (1 balls)
Oakes 9 (9 balls)
Last Wicket: Scarborough b. Haines 4 (FOW: 291/6)

And it's all over, 4 singles and they win with 2 balls to go!

We should organise a friendly league for us lot in here. Assuming we aren't in any already, that is.
2007-09-28 17:54:28
Six needed off the last over.

*bites chicken*
2007-09-28 17:56:40
Get in! Three balls spare. Obviously a perfectly timed innings and I didn't doubt the victory for a second.
2007-09-28 17:57:28
Uh huh.

Seriously, well done. You are a genius.

Scabby Sixers - Beat me twice, convincingly both times
Cheadle - Beat me twice, convincingly both times
Highland chieftains - Beat me twice, once very narrowly,

What happened to Beamers Rule! ? Ah, they relegated. Cheadle were top two last season, I felt my team was as good as Beamers Rule, Highland Chieftains and Scabby Sixers, despite losing mostly. So if you beat Cheadle, you do indeed have a walk over, unless Cheadle are concentrating on FC.

could well be the case. Having said that, my team was the same as the FC game, doesn't appear to have effected them too badly, could have been against their reserves I guess.

Looking at the reporters summary for last season and today, it looks like he's rested some top order batsmen and a bowler or 2.

I think there might be a sokker alliance already there, we could join that and organise from there.
