Subject: WHO ARE YA??!!

So...

Since I've returned I've noticed a little bit of tension between users in some of the forum posts (...) but also a decent number of players in England who are logging in pretty regularly, but never posting here. So, how about a freestyle post, tell us a bit about the person behind the user....the person who plays.... I will go first.


1. Who are ya?
My name is Jon.


2. Where do you come from
I live near to Woking, Surrey, England.


3. Roughly how old are you
Mid 40's (!!) - I was in my 20's when I started on Sokker the first time!!!


4. Family? Kids?
Wife of nearly 20 years, and 3 kids - all girls, all at secondary school now. Two play in a football team better skilled than my Sokker team!


5. Do you support a football team in real life?
Yes, Unsurprisingly, Nottingham Forest. Possibly the worst team to support in England over the past 20 years?! (Bury excepting....)


6. Do you have a job? What do you do?
I work in sales and marketing as a business manager. Lots of teams meetings, spreadsheets and emails..


7. Your favourite tipple??
It depends. Love a Brewdog Hazy Jane, a nice Rioja or a G&T. And maybe all 3 on a good night!!


8. Meat or Vegetables?
I have made the error of going pescatarian recently, so I guess I have to say veg!


9. Any other hobbies or interests
I'm a big motorsport fan, love BTCC, F1, WEC/Le Mans, Formula E, Formula 2, Indy, anything that goes in circles !!! I also have a soft spot for retro Acorn computers - BBC/Archimedes etc. I repaired and own a RISC PC and would get more but my wife would leave me.


10. To finish....Any fun fact about yourself?
When a student, I accidentally ended up crossing between two countries, through fields in the car of a drug dealer...was pretty scary at the time, but a good story over a beer since then...!!!

Just a couple of years off 50. Early 30`s started playing sokker.


4. Family? Kids?
Wife yes, Kids alas no unfortunately had to look after terminally ill family members and then the opportunity went and it was too late to do anything about it. Lesson there for folks.

5. Do you support a football team in real life?
Always liked Leeds. Played Sensi on the miggy and Yeboah could chip and curl it around any keeper.


6. Do you have a job? What do you do?
I run a 24 person IT Team so its project plans, IT security, change management, budgets and personnel issues for me.


7. Your favourite tipple??
I drink a fair bit of gin, wine and too much beer but its my whiskey collection for mellowing out these covid 18 hour days. Actually drinking a Brandy and Lovage as I type this...


8. Meat or Vegetables?
Well you cannot beat a good steak pasty. Got to be meat out of those two but I eat a fair bit of fish.


9. Any other hobbies or interests
I play a lot of chess and online gaming but pre-lock down was learning a lot of lines for some clubs I am in.

10. To finish....Any fun fact about yourself?
Lived in Avoca when they were filming Ballykissangel when I was working in Ireland but near Dundalk in the 90`s was nearly knee-capped by the IRA. Fortunately, they decided I needed a history lesson from my Celtic Brethren and a lot of Guinness. I learned a lot about false bottomed camper vans too. Glad I walked out of that pub 10 hours later.

Cheers Truffs. And all this time, I imagined you as a Katy Perry lookalike.... Cornwall is lush; Probably my favourite place in England. As a school kid growing up in the West Country lots of family holidays there, and then when older lads trips to Newquay (sorry....)

Your guys in Avoca could have met up with my guy and given him tops on hidden storage locations in vehicles...

Mid 46's (!!) - I was 32 when I started on Sokker the first time!!!

Wife of nearly 24 years, and 2 kids - a girls and a boy


5. Do you support a football team in real life?
I do not generally have a team that i am a fan of in England, but i support teams that have polish players in them. My club is WIDZEW which in the 80s eliminated Liverpool in the European cup.


6. Do you have a job? What do you do?
I mainy work as a gas safe engineer.


7. Your favourite tipple??
Atm, can not drink too much as i had a heart attack. Although i do like Black Johny walker

8. Meat or Vegetables?
I would say definitely meat.


9. Any other hobbies or interests
Generally, it is football. In my spare time i like to barbecue


10. To finish....Any fun fact about yourself?
Generally, not that interesting i am very normal and work and occasionally leave England for a holiday. I like to spend time in Spain.

Well I must admit I do like Zooey. Her music is good too and she does sexy classy so well she proves you don`t need to be half naked with it all hanging out to be considered a star.
