I went to see The National last night; they were very good indeed.
The support act were good too - Pacific Ocean Fire - a bit like Snow Patrol, but better sounding.

I love the National, had tickets to see them at The Astoria but couldn't go as had to sign contracts on a house and prep for a job interview, was absolutely gutted.
Nightmare. Quite a few of my friends wanted to go too but the gig was at the Rescue Rooms, which is quite a small venue, and it sold out & was absolutely packed in there. The new stuff off Boxer sounded pretty good, I think it's swung me in favour of it, as I haven't made my mind up yet. They ended on Mr November :)
Early on we'd nabbed a good spot to stand where we could lean against a metal shelf but the crowd ended up pushing back towards up and I spent most of the gig nudging some blinkered sheep in front of me who was clutching his missus and literally sitting in my lap as he constantly tried to edge backwards - even after a few choice words. Damn smoking ban deprived me of a means to encourage them to move forwards. They at least had the good grace to look sheepish when they realised at the end of the gig that there was no way we could have moved back for them! Happy days.

Note to self, look up The National on Napster.
You wont regret it - they're great. A bit like Interpol or the Editors, I guess, only better.
Don't mind Editors, his voice sounds a bit Joy Division for my liking.
interpol ain't herd from them in a while, i only remember the one where the video is a car crash and the person is like a puppet, i like that song lol but dont realy listen to that type of music. i like snow patrol about it really

And I have tickets for their Alexandra Palace gig in November.
And for the Editors at the Brixton Academy, too. And Tool. And Buck65 and Mike Ladd. Yo! :)

Ooh, I'd like to see Buck65.
Just got tickets to the Holloways and the Wombats at Rock City in Sept. Will try to catch them at Reading before then, if they're there.

I'm seriously thinking about weeping silently to Cowboy Junkies performing the Trinity Session at Royal Albert's. They're that good imo.
I'll definitely check out The National. Is it any good for post-breakup trauma?

He said they sound like Editors and Interpol, not Dido or Annie Lennox.
Pull yerself together man !

No, it'll make you feel worse.
