I'm a bit disturbed by the sheer number of bands / artists that come through the brit school. Of courde, they've only started mentioning it recently, after they've got a million in the bank.

It's leading me to the conclusion that the music industry is

a) becoming a safe career
b) only for rich kids who can be put through the brits school by ma and pater.

the brit school i s a state school so it is free. It is funded by the music industry and the lotttery as well as the government.

But I understand what you mean, I expect their is alot of good music going on its just not signed anymore.

Vampire Weekend rocks. Young Knives, Foals, Los Campesinos, MGMT, We Are Scientists and H.A.A.R.P. by Muse are among other notable March purchases.

So far this month worthy of a mention are Long Blondes, Courteeners (like Oasis? Buy this), One Night Only, Blood Red Shoes and Kooks. More to come no doubt, this month.

Next month, Futureheads. I don't care about any other albums from May after that.

Yeah looking forward to the Futureheads album. Whats the We are Scientists album like, I loved their first one but haven't bought the next yet

new elbow album is good

Yes, certainly is. Have had that on in the car a lot. Went to see them last week; good stuff live. The lead singer's not what I expected at all - he has some good banter!

My brother brought me a Fink album called 'Distance and Time' a while back. Am still listening to that one; it's really really very good indeed.

Los Campesinos album is ok I think; some good songs on that but a few I'm not so keen on.

New Portishead album is out at the end of this month. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm hoping it'll be a good'un. Saw Beth Gibbons live at Glastonbury once - she was so terrified of the crowd she sang most of her set with her back to the audience, calmed down a bit after bumming a ciggy off a guy at the front. Odd that she should be so nervous on stage, given with Portishead back in the day they must have toured a fair bit and done the tv performances.

Bloody love Tortoisehead. Roads is probably my favourite song of all time. Last time i checked their site they were gigging at Butlins or something like that.

Didn't know they were bringing out a new album; a must buy for me.

Comes out on the 28th I think.

I didn't know that kipper - every day is a school day. I guess they must select on merit or something then ?

The WAS album is ok. Bit more studio-y than the first, which was awesome. An album largely about alcoholism and depression being one of Woppa's favourite albums. How rare.

The WAS album is snoretastic.

Cheers, i just downloaded a preview of what i presume is their new single; Machine Gun.

Sounds alright, but i'm not sure about the machine gun type rhythm.

The judges do a lot of yapping don't they?

I was just about to ask "do they think he's any good?" and then the guy right at the end says something quite amusing!

I thought he was poo to be honest.

No, judges even like him. I like him too, but shame that he was voted out from todays show, which ended about few minutes ago.

Negative, Ghostrider. It rocks.
