Good teachers are not paid nearly enough in the UK. But by the same token there are too many that are considerably less skilful that are overpaid...

Gibby is right, get a backup subject. I know PE teachers that only have PE and they are finding it tough to get permanent jobs.

Its not easy being a teacher, but its totally worth it! I recommend it!

For example in Eesti teacher`s wages are ridiculously low. The usual monthly income is between 300-500 £.
You are paid better if you work in a city.

This job isn`t popular due to low wage.
Even a simple construction worker with no proper education gets more money.

Both the bit about construction worker and working in a city are true here too. It is just the amount of wages that differ.

Unless you're a nanny, I don't believe you make shreddies.
2007-09-26 11:05:30
I am also not convinced it would be the best job ever...

I'm currently working as a finance assistant for a holiday activity company called "Kid Klub" - http://www.kidsklub.co.uk/

Plus side:
- flexible to an extent
- don't have to sign in and out
- not an overly big company with too many people in the office
- not an excessive amount of work to do at the moment
- gave me full pay when I had 3 weeks off sick, despite having only been there 3 weeks at the time!

Negative:
- 9-5.30pm hours, miss having the afternoons like I had with my old job

I'm just starting a job in the fraud dept of a large credit card company. Don't know what I'll be doing yet really
