Subject: How would you fair as a sokker player?
I used to be a bit better, but I would say that about 7-8 years ago my passing and pm would be around solid but my pace and stamina would be alot better!! I am far too over weight now so I just stand there and pass the ball about!!! I remember the days when I played for junior blues and county football, but I could never take it too seriously!! I was once asked if I had any immediate family who were from Singapore!!!!!!
Matt Davenport, age: 36
excellent stamina, tragic keeper
solid pace, good defender
average technique, poor playmaker
weak passing, weak striker
Run a few marathons and churn out the miles every week (excellent stamina). Pace also good though looking back through the thread not in the Jaize league.
Happy to put my foot in (good def), but never looked around enough when playing (hence poor PM).

lol... the topic is an old subject open in many countries' forums, but could serve as a fascinating research topic...
It would be interesting to examine the difference between those who consider their talents in the REALISTIC zone compared to professional real life footballers, and rank their capabilities in the Tragic to Average and those, mostly the younger crowd, who rate their Pace or Technique or even scoring as Very Good and Excellent... and No, it's not due to being more athletic and/or sprightly in the younger age groups.
Anyhow, here's mine
Erez Miller, age: 41
solid stamina, weak keeper
adequate pace, adequate defender
weak technique, poor playmaker
average passing, weak striker
[In the last Sokker event we held I ran faster and longer than all those 14-25 would be athletes when we played on a full size pitch for nearly 2 hours... so much for the athletic youth of today!]
I was rather looking forward to having jaize listing everything in his scores as tragic or hopeless, but as usual his exaggerated high-self esteem has too firm a grip on his senses... and scores.
:P

Jim Stewart-Evans, age 27
value: 0 £
wage: that'd be telling £
tragic form
bookings:
average stamina unsatisfactory keeper
adequate pace solid defender
tragic technique adequate playmaker
average passing hopeless striker
I'm essentially a Sunday league Neil Ruddock due to my liking for tackling and only use being an entirely defensive minded right-back or to man-mark (i.e. kick the ankles of) one of the opposition's better players and, ideally, pee them off so much they do something stupid and get sent off before I do.

Wayne Parish, age 34
value: 0 £
wage: that'd be telling £
solid form
bookings: None as I never tackle!!
solid stamina tragic keeper
excellent pace tragic defender
solid technique adequate playmaker
good passing solid striker
Had this been 5-6 years ago I may have said better but I definately lost pace which I relied on. I was always a striker, my tackling was just rank! I could pass pretty well though and often find killer balls. I was playing a fair standard a couple of seasons ago, but gave up to concentrate on my sons football....hes pretty red hot actually and is at Charlton. here is how I see my son on sokker, interesting as I am both his biggest fan and critic:
Danny Parish, age 9
Magical form, bookings None....his tackling is like mine! lol
excellent stamina good keeper
excellent pace unsatisfactory defender
incredible technique solid playmaker
excellent passing outstanding striker
I may have gone slightly over the top, but hes far better than I ever was and already nutmegs me (on purpose). He has scored 80+ and 70+ goals in the last 2 seasons....and one of the best technically gifted players I have seen in kids football. What he does lack is power and to a degree pace as he is small compared to others his age. I have based his skills on his age, so hes not like that as an adult.......he'd at best be weak right now. ;)

LOL I just want him to enjoy himself, and if he doesn't make it then I will not be suprised and neither disappointed as its just nice watching him enjoy himself. Once kids stop enjoying something they are no longer willing to learn imo.
yeah, i was gonna be the next oliver khan, but i got told i wernt big enough even though i am nearly 6'', its some sort of discrimination.
It's a comedy about a rock band. It's very funny, although you may be too young (not a slight...just that you didn't have to live through the hair rock of the eighties) to appreciate it fully.
ok. i dont see what that has to do with anything, i cant figure these things out, i read the daily star for petes sake.
What happens to Pete if you don't read the Daily Star ?
