Ever wanted to own a real football club ? This site want to find 50,000 investors at 35 pounds each (shame about the strong pound), and when they find that number of investors, will buy an English football league club. Investors will be asked to vote on team kit, players to be picked, formation and tactics.

That looks quality but think its a bit daft to be looking at football league clubs a conference or conference north or south team would be really good.

I like the idea of scarbrough to watch your team playing at the stadium of chips

well, i think Cambridge United are currently the top voted for club, and they're conference. My main concern is that well run clubs aren't looking for buyers, and badly run clubs that want buyers have debts.

£1.5m won't buy much.

Not even *insert rival football team here*

half a million will get you a league 2 team like Halifax or Acc Stanley apparently.

50,000 trustees is the minimum though, the sky's the limit.

Still haven't got my answer, but I think it's because I confused trust with thrust and such.

anyone here registered on it?

They have 9000 and need 50000.....some way short!

I have - voted for Cambridge United.

I am not going to pay bloody 35 pounds to be a shareholder. If I understood right.
Or is it a fake club?

Looks like a bit of a scam if you ask me.

How much input in to a club are you going to have with that amount of trustees?

Enough to style the physios hair i think.
It's certainly controversial, the thread I opened on battrick has been one of the busiest in there. People either think it's a great idea or a scam, very little in between.

I think it is a great idea for a scam..

Pfft...Is that in between? :)
2007-05-04 18:08:03
pffft, yes. :)

Correct. Not meaning to take the piss too badly, because foreign languages are tough, but I'm still going to do it in this case. I'd expect you to do the same if I made a similar mistake in dutch. For instance asking my girlfriend on the phone to pass on my vegetables to her parents.
