According to the BBC Forest are looking to build a new stadium near the moterway...so Farewell then the Trent End and all my West bridgeford memory's...does anybody miss there old stadiums? Any Baseball Ground fans or Maine Road lovers?
maine road loved it there new ground lacks the spirit, well what spirit is left at man city
I've been to see Forest play a few times in the two seasons. They always played pap when I saw them, so hopefully a new stadium will bring some new luck!
However, a 40-50k seater? In Division 1? Hmmm....

yh its a bit much but could provide a bit of a income maybe get the spirit back up to champions league and premiership football :P
I know the Manor Ground was full of atmosphere (nothing like the new stadium) and they hosted some brilliant sides.
Stadiums are a bit like movie sequels and prequels...very hard to live up to the original.

I wouldn't hold your breath - we'll be at the City Ground a fair while yet and I bet loads of people oppose the planning application and it gets held up for an age.
It's hardly going to generate more income when we don't sell out our 30k tickets at the City Ground each home match. The bloody thing will be half full every home game, at best.
"It will ruin our quality of life"
"It will destroy the environment"
"It will smell"
Likely to be at least 1, probably all 3 of those for the people who moan about it.

Depends on how many extra jobs it creates, whether it brings in more money through various other sources, and if travel becomes easier, to other parts of the country, due to easy access having to be built.
And most improtantly, what happens to the house prices due to it being built!!

You've missed the - 'There are Roman remains under there or, an incredibly rare flower/water flea.
Dunno, Clifton, which the proposed site is next to, is basically one of the biggest out-of-town council estates ever built, although a lot of it is privately owned now.
They were planning on making the A453 (single lane access to city centre from J26 south M1 at the moment) a dual carriageway anyway, and the tram is being extended out there too, so it makes sense. Having read the evening post article on it tonight I can see why they want to do it. The club say it'll only be done if the supporters want it. Remains to be seen.
If I had enough money to buy a spare house, I'd deffo buy one round there anyway, as when the tram extendion is built, the house prices will rocket and they're (quite cheap at the moment.

It's a bit "pie in the sky" in my books.
The club are sayiing 2014 at the earliest (therefore 2020)
They are stating that the main aim is championship and then premiership
(therefore is it only if we make the prem. make that 2025)
They need to raise £50m funding. £50m. To a club in League One, who defaulted on their Euro '96 stand extension payments from memory...
(make that 2030)
I'm not convinced.
But prove me wrong....
