Subject: Close Season Transfer Window

Fowler was on Sky Sports the other night saying that no clubs have offered him a contract, so I'd say that he's been shown the door.

I get the feeling that money isn't much of an object at the moment for Rafa.

Liverpool

Cisse and Bellamy are on their way out.
Owen is a dirty little money grabber who I hope will never play for Liverpool again.
Mancini or Queresma, or possibly even both

Torres is absolute class. If Manyoo, Chelsea or Arsenal had succeeded in signing him (like they'd tried) there'd be a completely different story in the media.

Liverpool have signed around 10 players this close season. Lots of young players for the academy.

What's happened to Voromania on here?

I wouldn't sign Owen even under Bosman rules as he costs so much in wages, is so prone to injuries, and a primadonna overall.

Crouch, Kuyt, Bellamy & Fowler. To be honest with you I'd fire all of them if I were in charge of a club aspiring to win the Prem and CL. None of them is good enough imo, they're not in the same league with the likes of Rooney, Tevez, Messi etc. And Torres probably is, judging by his talent.

If crouch was 5' 7" instead of 6' 7", we'd all be harping on about his skills on the ball, and nobody would mention his lack of heading ability. He's a very good technical player. Him, Torres, Kuyt and Voronin is a pretty decent front four, but nothing more. Chelsea, and Man U especially have shown that you need absolute class up front. Liverpool only have Torres and possibly Kuyt (assuming his Dutch stats will one day transfer to the Prem) fit in there. Compare and contrast with Rooney and (I hate to admit it) Drogba and you can see how far behind Liverpool are, for the moment at least.

Anyone got any idea why Rafa is getting rid of Speedy Gonzalez, seeing as he only started about a dozen games last season, his second season in the prem? He was aangry enough that he wasn't allowed to purchase him because Chile weren't good enough, and then he got him, gave him one season to get used to the prem, an injurious second season followed, and now he seems keen to get rid. I don't get it. Especially as he's not exactly got any other decent options on the left.

a) because Speedy Gonzalez is a cartoon mouse with a high pitched voice.

b) because after an injerious second season, speedy Gonzalez became Hop a long Gonzalez, the expensive crock.

One of these is probably not true.
2007-07-06 14:21:05
Well a) is definitely true. He's still less crockable than Kewell, the expensive crock.
2007-07-06 14:21:58
Ah, but Kewell has a pretty and expensive wife. Wags run football clubs, FACT.
2007-07-06 14:22:20
Is Speedy a gayer, then? Maybe that's why.
2007-07-06 14:22:47
if he was, would he have a GAG instead of a WAG ?
2007-07-06 14:24:24
GAB maybe?
2007-07-06 14:24:44
Or maybe BWAGs?
2007-07-06 14:25:53
I'd go with gift of the GAB.

There's the Viking, then Kewell, and he's about to sign a winger or wingers possibly. It could be that although he keeps talking about wingers what he has in mind is wingbacks, and apparently better ones than Gonzo.

Maybe it's back to basics and he needs fullbacks and attacking wingers.

Who's the viking?
2007-07-06 16:08:07
Jan Arne Riise ?

Riise, I couldn't recall the name. :)
