Subject: Great Britain National Team

Hi my name is Aaron. I live in Australia. I am creating this forum because I am disturbed by how FIFA organised your national team.
If Guadelope can't qualify for the World Cup as one country because they are under the jurisdiction of France, Then why are England, Scotland, Wales and North Ireland allowed to qualify as seperate countries when they are just one?
Does Greenland have a national team? No. Because they are under the jurisdiction of Denmark. So then why is England different?

Because we created football and can make our own rules!

This is also a hiostoric thing, the nations that make up great britain have always been seperate in terms of football history dating back over 100 years, yes this is an anomily in football terms however this is unlikley to ever change mate.

Look at the league structure over here. There is no GB league.

You could argue that it harms us more than yourselves, as surely a British national football team would be stronger than splitting into 4 separate nations....

You could also argue than Island (north or south) would not really belong in a GB team

Nah, he meant Northern Ireland. Otherwise he wouldn't have been implying that all of those countries should be a GB team, as that wouldn't make sense. Innit.

So who would make your GB NT...

Giggs would have hadmany happy years playing for GB, and Owen would still be Welsh. Gary Speed would have been a strong contender, and maybe Jason Koumas would be now. As a welshman I know more about them than the other 2...

From the recent lot of players, I reckon Roy Keane would have been in there, maybe Shay Given, maybe Craig Bellamy.

Roy Keane? Shay Given? You do realise they played for Ireland and not Northern Ireland?

England would have won the World Cup in 1970 with George Best in the team. We have 4 teams to give other teams a chance. Case closed.
