As reasons to make a film, it stills seems a touch flimsy and lacking in plot, but Scott's a director who's made numerous classics out of plots that boil down to a sentence: 'There's a crew on a spaceship with a hidden alien', 'Harrison Ford hunts mutinous humanoid robots in very low-level lighting', 'A gladiator's wife and son have been killed by the emperor and he's right narked about it'. So maybe he can turn this into something.

No he cannot. It is a shit game that every normal person avoids as it only lead to arguments. The only people that like it are the Wethers Originals sucking blue rinse brigade and I am pretty sure Scott isn't aiming the film at them.

He should stick to the bombs-and-guns genre he is better at. Unless he makes a French arthouse film about everyone discussing the merits of which playing piece is better.

It could me a mafia type thing, with cars and shooting people, to try to own the city, it would be almost like a GTA film.

I'd have thought it was going to be a Wall Street meets Gladiator kind of effort with ruthless property investors, up-and-coming yakuza gangs, corrupt politicians and angry council estate mobs.

You mean he just came up with an idea, and wanted to put a name on it that might just make it sell better.

Well I will watch it if it has nothing to do with Monopoly!

Besides, that weird bloke on the box is scary.

I could see Terry Gilliam doing something set in London with a Huge Pair of dice wrecking the place. Scott I'm not so sure what he'd do.
