I dunno, the more i look at it, the more it looks like he tried to take the ball the same side as he ran, and you can briefly see him surprised that the ball has gone the opposite direction ubt perfectly in his path ;o)

Beckhams lob wasn't all that, you will se it quite often in spain.

I agree with that, but it was pretty nifty considering the players age, and that it wasn't Spain ;o)

Also i think he means that, they way his body turns and where he turns suggests to me he was trying it.
