Subject: Computer Purchasing Help

People keep warning me away from Vista at the moment, apparently its got lots of problems.....

Personally, for the games i'm running nowadays etc, it is more stable than xp. It doesn't run some games, but then i haven't really played them in a while and not inclined to do much about it.

I got it free from the microsoft developers network (through uni).

If buying a new computer and you want to play directx 10 games then you need it, otherwise keep xp for a bit until there is a service pack out for vista or something.

It's just your usual Microsoft 2 year rule thing. They release it and then refine the bugs when people complain. Usually most of the bugs get ironed out by 2 years after release.

yep! XP is only just stable.

Its amazing how that Gates guy is so broke. :/
