Who would have thought a 6th club would give him the chance to relegate them.

Any thoughts??? NCN???

Just cannot help but pity the Naaarch fans....

On the other hand, you can't polish a turd so why get in a manager to try?

Sorry, NCN, but as a fellow lower league fan, I can only empathise with your plight.

ok, I must admit that he wouldn't have been my first choice, but before he gets clubs relegated (usually in the second season), he tends to be quite good at not getting them relegated (usually in the first season). Looking at where we are at the moment, we need a manager who is good at coming in and fixing stuff. So all we need to do is keep him for 12 / 18 months, avoid relegation this season, get near the play-offs by next Xmas, watch him get poached by Bolton or someone equally dumb, and avoid the inevitable second half of second season decline.

The key to surfing is when to get off the wave, y'see ;)

Oh, and in other news, Mandaric is looking for his 5th manager of the season for Leicester, and our good neighbours Ipswich (we're playing them on sky this weekend, avoid it, it will be dreadful football) have just been bought out by an hermit asset-stripping arms-dealer. So it could be worse.

Well I hope and prey you are right, for me he was the worst manager in West Ham's history bar none!

I could not believe when Newcastle gave him a job, and now you lot have. The man has no personality whatsoever......so we went from Harry Redknapp one of the biggest personalities in management to Roeder, I can tell you it was a serious come down.

For me the first season is never the hardest task for any manager, its always a matter of judging the second season. In the odd occassion you get managers who come in and improve nothing, but thats usually due to the fact a manager like Glen Roeder has left the job, and raped the club of all of its quality players through relegation.

I fear for you I really do.

Ha Roeder, god knows why he got the job at newcastle!

Manadaric is a first class fool, he got rid of redknapp and then had to get him back in. Then at Leicester he appointed Martin Allen and did not like the fact he wanted to bring in his own players, not what the Chairman (Mandaric) wanted, you would have thought Leicester was Real Madrid the way he acts.

He must have been the cheap alternative, as he was at west Ham, back then we wanted Curbishley or McLaren, McLaren went to Boro, and Curbishley did not like being 2nd choice....now after a full cycle the manager is now Curbishley. lol

Unfortunately in that time we lost a whole team virtually and several millions in Prem money.

At least West Ham didn't go down :)
2007-11-01 17:25:36
They did with Roeder....
2007-11-01 17:26:10

Yes its amazing that we didn't though. Just wish we could always go on runs like that! LOL
2007-11-01 18:05:03
Didn't you get 7th place with Roeder though ? And didn't newcastle ?
2007-11-01 18:10:19
And then fails miserably the next season :P
