I have burned CDs for years, yet cannot get my PC to burn a CD now. It is refusing to format my CD-R stating that "Write once media is not supported by this version of DLA"
Anyone got a quick fix?
thanx

normally if you have a lighter or a pack of matches handy it does the trick
I know you've been burning CD's for years...but you do know you can't format a CD-R don't you?
the problem I've got is that I put a brand new CD-R in the drive and it spits it out telling me to put in the correct media - and lists a whole load including CD-R.
Media player, real player, roxio - none of them work. I've even tried adding a separate external CD writer and it will not work either.
grrr

how do I update the windows drivers, so I can burn to a CD-R?
Sounds like the reader needs a clean. Get one of those cd reader cleaning tools.
does it play cd's or run program cd's?

or even see the CD-R in windows. I chuck a CD-R in, and windows will not let me access it.
hmm. I can burn with windows media player, but it does not allow me to burn anything else but music files as a data cd.
my pc looks knackered...

weirder than weirder, my whole E: vanished, so I rebooted the PC, and when I restarted it still did not reappar. Once I switched fully off, it reappeared and now is burning properly.
