Quite pleased with that result. I made quite a lot of subtle alterations to the last time that tactic was used (dragged the wingers more towards the middle at points, altered where the strikers were). I have to admit that Lucas is one of my favourite players in the NT so to lose him so early on was never good, but to go 2-0 up whilst down to ten men was a very good result.
I do wonder how things would have been had it been 11 men all match, but that win puts us in pole position to get 2nd place in the group. If we go into the game against Nederland with a far superior GD to Portugal, and Portugal do not beat them, 2nd is guaranteed as the chances of a slip up against anyone besides Nederland are very small.

If I ever become Nats coach, I'm definitely going to use tactics other than the 4-4-2. It seems like every national team pretty much plays the same way.
