And last season he beated me and John in the CUP...^_^

Anyway talent is one hidden "skill" that make the player pop faster if the talent is "LOW". How do you know the talent of a player?? If it is in your junior school just counts the weeks between 2 pops and you have an idea of his talent. In this number you have to consider the ability of your Junior coach as well. If it is not in your junior school you have to trust the seller or look for a Printed screen of the talent graph that most of people now is doing.

3 weeks talent is the low that has been saw. ^_^

Ok great! I have been doing that. Is just that you guys talk about talent like if you could tell for sure the talent of a player, so I started thinking that I was missing something. Counting the weeks says something about a player but last season I bought a forward very cheap because he looked like he didn't have any talent but he turn out to be one of the top scores on my league, so I guess you just have to see a player performing on the field to really know, and there is no magic software that can let us know about talent.

what do you think talent is?

Well! is not only the ability that makes a player increase his skills, its also the ability to better use his skills. therefore you can have a solid defender that can possibly defend better that a very good. Its all about performance. Don't get me wrong, skills are very important, its just that if you could predict how well a player will play you can buy the best players at the lowest price and if someone can do that all of us will not stand a chance. Ex: one of my best players doesn't have the skills that other forwards from my league have and his value is far less than those other forwards, but he has scored more than 200 goals. So if I sell it, the profit will not match his contribution; consequently, I chose to keep him and put him in the game every week because he seams to find a way to score.
If someone can measure that then the game becomes pure tactics, and I should focus only on that rather than trying to get good players along with my tactics.

I actually agree with you to some extent.

I've had players who both played worse then their skill set and better then it. Maybe its how I use said players, but one recent case I doubt it.

My recent fairly big sale (Stephenson) was a constant underachiever for me. Yet he goes to The rouches and gets 5 assists in 3 games. go figure, I guess he liked Belgium better :)

I'm sure you guys are factoring in the players form right? Great skills with crappy form can mean a bad performance.
2008-02-12 14:21:18
Taking into account the form and the particular possition on which each player will perform best!

Just checking.

definitely am.

I am sorry I think this is a figment of your guys imaginations. Your suggesting there is some other 'hidden' trait when clearly the rules say the only hidden trait is talent. I think its how you are setting your tactics and/or form/tactical disciplines that you are seeing change.

Maybe it's just an amazing long term coincidence. That's more likely then what you suggest.

For me, Stephenson consistently played poorly, form regardless. Despite being the most balanced skill set midfielder (PM, passing, tech, pace) on my team.

The hidden trait is called "Manager's perception"
