I understand what you are saying. Teams can stay inactive for a while before they are taken off of the active users list. And you are saying that sokker has just now marked them as ownerless.
If you want more sokker managers, then go to Hattrick`s USA freestyle forum and make a thread "Sokker.org"..:)
According to Wikipedia, Stalin's last Great Purge was in November 1938–1939, which primarily invoived "Stopping of mass operations, abolishing of many organs of extrajudicial executions, repressions against some organizers of mass repressions.
:)
Your point, while a good one, is still not changed by the fact that I don't think we've ever seen a pre-purge number that high.

i think quack is out of town and that is why the presurge number is so high. hopefully we keep this ball rolling though. TELL YOUR FRIENDS
Ooof. Purge struck. 329 users. So much for that.
I don't know why we don't have more growth. Website not flashy enough? I dunno. I kind of wish they would update the match animations a little...
you may be right. most companies add something flashy every so often to maintain interest for their members/users. there seems to be a lot of attrition among plaers who have been here a couple of seasons. but, i mostly notice how many new users never log in after their first couple of times. could be related.
There are a number of "extraneous" things that might add a little flash. "Faces" for the players, a la Hattrick. Maybe a little more polish to the forum system.
One of the things that keeps Hattrick going is the size of their userbase... there's lots of forum activity, and the social component keeps players coming back long after the game has become boring to them. Sokker still isn't boring to me after four years, but it's possible that we haven't hit the "critical mass" of user numbers to really establish an active social community on the forums.

Some of you college people need to find some drunk friends to get involved.
