I'm perturbed optimally ... PO'ed ... the damned game engine set my lineup back to my B-team and I got smoked in my league match.
I KNOW I setup my A-line for this match and for ALL League matches. I do this at least a week or two in advance and have done so every season since I started playing here. This is the THIRD TIME this has happened in the past two seasons.
This screws up my training, too.
Nothing like some outside factor screwing up the whole season.

You say it happen to you so often, but it never happen to me: right now i'm thinking it might be a problem with your browser or something......(just to be on the safe side after you click save, check back if your lineup is there....i always do....that!!)
beside that i don't think it is a problem with Sokker itself....but this is just my personal thought!!

I've never heard of a game besides this one present issues like this though.
browser cache or not.
seriously, at some point they can upgrade the interface here to something better then Commodore 64 caliber.

It has happened to me a number of times as well. I've been ok for the last 8 weeks or so because I've gotten all anal-retentive about only setting a lineup for the next match and checking it often up until match time. Still annoying though. It's the reason I had a tough qualifier and didn't promote last season-- lost two and drew a third because the ME decided the b-squad should play.
Its not the ME, i has to do with setting a lineup in advance and then changing a different lineup in some way (perhaps changing your friendly lineup) and then it is unsure as to whether you keep your lineup for the next match.
Does have to be fixed though.

When a lineup is set, the GE should NEVER change ANYTHING.... PERIOD.
I was out of town for the weekend and could not check anything, so why would I need to do so?
This happens too often to be a random event.
Something is drastically wrong with the GE and needs to be addressed and correctly quickly.

well, the good news is, you're right, its not random... bar is right, i've noticed this issue as well... if you set your lineup ahead several weeks and change anything about the lineup previous to the match for other earlier matches, it changes your lineup... it happened to me once when i changed a lineup for one week and another was effected... i think the bulk of your anger with the GE is a bit misplaced, you seem to have a lot of problems with it, but if it was really a huge problem as you say it is, then it would be effecting A LOT of people adversly and we'd be hearing about it more often from more people than you... whether you like it or not, the match settings do change if you set them weeks out and then change other orders in the interim... like any good programmer would tell you... "sounds like user error"
why would anyone set their lineup more then one game, or even one week, in advance is beyond me.
Sounds like a programming error.
If I submit match orders for a match a week or 2 in advance, the programming of the orders SHOULD NOT change any orders I have set previously, when I submit orders for another match. It doesn't happen in that oHTer game. Why does it happen here?
That is just bad programming and should not be excused as "user error."
The user doesn't know he can't do that, so how can it be classified as "user error?"
Sounds like a lazy programmer who is more secure in making excuses than fixing the problem that causes the issue in the first place. It's a shame but I see this excuse from programmers every day. Their programs are never wrong, until the user submits mountains of evidence that point to a problem with the program.

I totally agree ... from this guy who taught programming before most of you were born.
The ONLY change/s that were made were due to injury..... NOTHING else.
The GE should NEVER make a change to something which the player has SAVED. SAVED means SAVED or the programmer has it all screwed up.
Fix this.

It has happened to me 3 times.
Islander, why do some people do it 2 weeks in advance, just to be safe if they cannot enter a lineup.
Once it is saved it should not be an issue, it is a huge bug that has always been ignored.

what happens if someone in your lineup two weeks from now gets a red card next week?
You could argue then that'd you default out, unless this game auto substitutes a person in your lineup from your bench. I'm not sure.
Truth is, anyone should be able to simply log onto this game once every week and put a valid lineup in.
Setting your lineup more then one week ahead is an accident waiting to happen. Whether you want to call it bad game design or not is somewhat irrelevant - because it's not like Greg's going to do anything about it but categorically deny that a problem exists.
I mean, we're lucky he's updated the transfer system to be honest, its the best/most work hes done on this game in like a year.

The problem is that when a player gets injured or red-carded and you have to make a change, any other pre-set lineups get messed up.
As a user, I shouldn't have SAVED lineups changing. Changing a lineup for one week should not dictate a change in another week unless I say so.
Additionally, if something comes up and I can't set a lineup for my next match, using the previous lineup is absolute garbage. When you play two matches a week with two different squads, it only makes sense that we should be able to designate a Sunday default lineup and a Wednesday default lineup. There's few things more disappointing than having your international friendly start earlier than expected and seeing you A-squad playing.

You are correct, it should not be a problem. Nonetheless, in the future, if simply save line ups in the order that they are played it will eliminate future problems with the flawed system we are forced to use.

Well if I am out of town, what does it matter. But if I have a red, does it not fill in the first sub? If not that needs to be fixed :)
