barndog [del] to All
The USA NT squad under my direction will play with a couple of clear goals, which should lead us to becoming a Sokker powerhouse. Those goals will be to keep play on our offensive half of the pitch, and to take more shots than our opponents. More often than not, achieving these goals will lead our squad to dominate teams that we are better than, and to battle for wins against teams stronger than us.

An analysis of my league games this season will show that my squad achieved the first goal in 10 of 14 matches, and the second goal in 11 of 14 matches. Combine these two things with a defensive positioning that gave our opponents fits all season long, and you'll see what led us to a second place finish in the Major League, and the US Open Cup title.

It can also be seen that those goals were achieved using 3 different formations, a 442, a 532, and a 541. Different formations were used due to player injuries and suspensions, and in order to neutralize the opponents formation. The same will be true of the NT under my direction. Tactics will be designed to best use our available player pool, while taking away the opponent's preferred playing style.

Other minor things will go into preparing our NT squad to perform at it's best. Throw-in and corner kick positioning will be adjusted on a weekly basis to take advantage of any openings in our opponents tactics. And conditional orders will be used which keep us from providing any opportunities for the opposition due to suspension or injury.

Add in the experience I've gained from running the USA National Team at Trophy Manager for 4 seasons, and you can see why I'm the best candidate to run our NT squad for this next season!

Vote for me here!

1). Can you provide three examples detailing your tactical ability? (e.g. links to games etc.)

2). How have you supported the USA NT in the past?

3). What is your communication strategy whilst in the role?

4). How will you balance the short term needs of playing the best NT players, with the longer term need to provide future stars NT games to speed up their training?

5). If you lose the election, what will you do? (Go for another country? Support current NT? Try again in future? Quit sokker?)

got this from forestman in England

1) I use a 532 as my 'standard' tactic. Used it at the beginning of the past season to shut down wing attacks with my wingbacks. I used it with success in games 1-5 last season, earning 4 wins and a draw. Played an even match in week 6 against Fro, as it shut down his wing attacks but gave up some through balls. In week 7 Trogdor tore it up with most of the damage coming courtesy of Bu up the middle. Games 6 and 7 both resulted in losses. Changed to the 442 with a defensive mid in week 8 and got the win against Trogdor, cutting off the central attacks. In weeks 9-11 I had my best attacker injured, and didn't have a suitable backup, so switched to a 541 to shut down opponent attacks, this time stopping Fro's through balls without giving up wing plays. It resulted in 2 draws and a win. In weeks 12-14 I switched back to the 442 with defensive mid as my opponents didn't present strong wing attacks, getting 3 wins.

2) I've supported the USA NT right from the start, making comments along the way which hopefully were helpful, but mostly by putting an emphasis on trying to train US players for the squad.

3) I'll be posting reports after each game detailing what we did that worked, and what we tried to do that may not have worked. I will also welcome any pre-game scouting reports on our upcoming opponents, as someone else might notice something I don't.

4) First and foremost will be to win games during the World Cup. Getting some playing time for young guys would be a very small factor in deciding who plays as the training boost is very minimal, and would only be considered for the elite youngsters.

5) I'll always support the US NT. Any decision to run again in the future would not be based on the results of this election. I have ran against Fro in the past.

Our weakest point right now is our midfield(besides smuckers)...how do you plan on working with it in the games?

The same way I do with my own squad. Our defense should be strong enough to play in a more forward manner than they have in the past, allowing them to provide support for the midfield. This will also give our mids less ground to cover, and allow me to place them in spots where someone will always be open for an incoming pass, and have some space to make decisions and deliver the ball before a defender gets to them.

do you still think TrophyManager is better then Sokker?

You're the right man to win the elections then :)

I don't know that one is better than the other. They're kind of like apples and oranges. Being able to view matches and create your own tactics are pretty hard to beat.

I see. I just know in the past that hasn't been your mentality, you've talked down the game here(well, over there)...so I was curious.

I'm sure you're mistaken. Both games have their own strong and weak points. They complement each other very well.

During my 3 years here I've never taken a break, or thrown a fit after a match result and threatened to leave, or anything of that sort. I've been active here every single week, and will continue to be.

Tell me why my tactics are so mediocre.

"I'm sure you're mistaken. Both games have their own strong and weak points. They complement each other very well."

I'm not mistaken. Way back when TM first started, you did nothing but trash Sokker saying TM was better. Back then I was a huge Sokker fan. Keep in mind this is a few seasons ago.

Additionally, you are a game admin over on Trophymanager, and have the lifetime sponsorship there. Links are easily provided if you want to dispute this. You aren't a sponsor here. Haven't been for quite some time. You don't know jack about tactics here, because you havent scouted a team in how long?

Your allegiances to me are obvious - and as a result it makes you a poor choice for NT.

"During my 3 years here I've never taken a break, or thrown a fit after a match result and threatened to leave, or anything of that sort."

I'm not running for the position. Not sure what relevance this has.

He wouldn't know, considering he's not a sponsor.

Tactics are the only thing that keeps my mediocre ass team in A league.
