I want to again this season voice my complaint about the qualifying match. I again won my B-league, going undefeated, but I just simply am not strong enough - yet - to beat an A-league team. So, my "reward" for winning my B-league and then losing the qualifying match for my fans to drop from "madly in love" (7) to "depressed" (3), plus I lost 5 members, plus my payments this week will be affected, plus - my understanding is - that my year end bonus is affected.
This is simply silly. It makes for a really unhappy season end when my team accomplished all it possibly could. I really believe this needs to be changed, or at least toned down in some manner.

you should consider changing from that tactic also...1 defender is not enough :)
He should be glad he only last by 5. Now I see his problem. his league is AWFUL. There are probably C leagues as good.
You all are missing the point. Yes, my B-league is in the bottom third, I know that. So what, I have no control over that. I also played my reserves in the qualifying match; I tanked it. I had my starting XI at average marks up to about 39-40 by the end of the season. So, although unlikely, I possibly could have won with my starters. But what would that have gotten me? To then go to A and get pummeled next season, be lucky to win one match, and then get auto-reged right back down to B? In short, my team is one season for sure, maybe two from being ready to compete in A. So, I played my reserves. Now admittedly, there could be influence by the fact that I was shut out, and the game could have been a closer loss with my starters. But THAT IS NOT THE POINT; I am talking about the general philosophy of there being a "reason" to win your individual league.
If you have a team that is good enough to compete readily in the level you are in, but not ready to take the step up, you should not be flogged. I would like to see the stats on it, but I bet the team that came in second in my league came out basically equivalent in supporters and sponsor money by year end. So if you know your team is not ready to compete at the next level, there is no incentive to win your individual league, that is the problem. There are multiple levels of teams for a reason; a C-league team does not belong in the Major League. I have a good B-league team, but I don't belong in A. But if you want people to stay involved, you have to allow them incentive to compete at each level the team is at.
Otherwise, the only incentive is an all or none deal; either you move up or else it didn't matter whether you came in 1st, 2nd or 3rd in your league. With a game like this that is played over a long period of time, if you don't give some incentive to win at the level your at while you spend two to four seasons grinding out training of youngsters, you will have people lose interest. We already are short enough people in the USA leagues as is.

What is the point? You admit to 'tanking' your qualif even though you felt that you might have been able to win if you had played your first team. Well duh, of course your fans are going to be upset when you get blownout and yes that adversely affects your economics as it should. You didn't want to promote, made sure that you wouldn't by laying off and now seem to have a problem with the consequences.
Don't get me wrong, I fully understand that promotion probably wasn't in your club's best interests but look on the bright side. More than likely by week 2-3 of next season you'll be back at 'madly in love' and gaining supporters by the truckload. The few supporters you are losing and potential bonus monies lost is only in the short run and it really isn't all that much anyway. Shake it off and take it out on your div rivals next season. ;)

he tanked his qualifier? He should be glad he still has fans, ROFL.

it sounds to me like he wants you guys to make it possible for people to become and remain powerhouses in their league, so they never need to leave. lets make it possible for a guy to win his league, throw his qualifier to move up to where he should potentially be able to compete, and compensate him further to stay down in his league, since he threw the match....therefore causing him to be a powerhouse that will never find the need to move on to further competition. Let's just allow that guy to keep beating the other teams in his league, as if they were bots, because he has no reason to promote. That's the best idea......
wow, that's all I can say....wow!

LOL, you guys just can't see the point. It doesn't matter whether I tanked and lost 20-0 or played my best XI and lost 2-1.
You do bring up a good point about powerhouse though, but that is not what I am trying to say. IMO there should at least be some nominal bonus for winning the division yes, but that is secondary; my only point is that the qualifer should not have such a negative impact on year end monies.
Obviously, the overall point is to move up, but what is the fastest a team has made it from C-league to Majors, 5-6 seasons? That has to be at the least. The philosophy behind the game is that it takes TIME to grow a team, is not not? There should be some point to winning your league at each level as you progress.

You are playing to a tough crowd.
Admitting you tanked the qualifier and then coming on here to complain about your lose of supporters is not going to win you many accolades around here.
If you would have played your best XI and lost by 2-1, you would not have seen a drop as drastic a drop as you did by tanking and losing 5-0. That's just the way it is and it should NOT change.
Time to move on.

As the other have said, it is programmed like that to stop those, like yourself, from throwing qualifier matches. So being rightly punished for doing a dishonest act is not likely to get it stopped.
rofl he intentionally tanked his qualifier and then comes on here to complain about his loss of fans. Unbelievable. ppl llike him is why the world is in the state it is in.
I won my B04 league, I played a qualifier and won even though on papper I have a weaker team. The match report showed that my opponent should have won. Probably my tactic was better and I won. What I want to say is: just play the game and enjoy it! So what that you have to stay 3-4 seasons in B-league? You still play, right? Do you think in A-league you will have more fun? My oppinion is that you won't. It will be tougher. That's all.
My opinion - you should not promote until you are ready to compete AND SUCCEED in the next level up. If you lose a qual match (unless you are riddled with injuries) you are by definition not ready for the next level up. Swallow your pride, look at why you lost, and then dominate your league the next season to autopromote (see Manhattan Might for a perfect example of what to do).
Just don't autopromote into A4. It's not fun. I can vouch for this first hand.
