Subject: sk manager + new players

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or if there's just an issue with the sokker manager, but for some reason, when I pick up a new trainee before the wednesday update, if they pop that first week, sokker manager doesn't record it as a pop. It acts like they just came in that way. I have tried updating the info prior to the training update, then again after, and that still didn't work.

I was just wondering if maybe there's something else I could do, or if you guys know that it's an issue with sk manager. OR, if there's a way that I could manually put in what the player came in as....I dunno

gemineye, when do you update your sokker manager with the training update? I would recommend you wait until at least after midnight so that your computer's date is officially Thursday. Guac can correct me if I am wrong, but Sokker Manager looks at each week as a single entry in the database. And it gets confused if say you have a new trainee that week...and then you update his data at 11:00 PM on Wednesday. To Sokker Manager, it is still before the training has occurred so it just overwrites your current data. Thus it loses his initial stats.

so you are saying to NOT update sokker manager before Thursday 12:01am? So, just once a week? The problem that I've had with that is again, if the pop that first week.

I.E. I pick up "player x" on monday afternoon. I play him in my friendly on wednesday night, for pace training. The last update I had for sk manager was LAST thursday, so it doesn't even realize that I have "player x" yet. So, when I update it THIS thursday, at 12:01am, it just sees that I now have "player x" and his stats, but the problem is that he came in with Excellent pace, and popped to Formidable that night. So, sk manager doesn't show that he popped, and in turn, shows that he received a nominal amount of training in pace, with no pop. So, it screws up all of the true numbers....

is that making sense to anyone? lol

Update it on Tuesday or Wednesday before training happens, and then again on Thursday after training.

is there any way to manually put the proper skill distribution when the player came to me, so that the numbers moving forward are accurate?

I think what barndog says will work. That is the way I do it. I usually do not update my sokker manager until Thursday morning when I wake up.

You are on eastern time arent you Guac? I think that is why you have never noticed. Sokker training is usually finished sometime around 11 - 1130 PM central time. The problem occurs if you download in that window of time before midnight. You being eastern time, I doubt you have had a chance to see this. And the window would be even larger for Mountain or Pacific timers.
