What can be done to increase sokker managers, especially in the U.S. why are sites like Hattrick so successful in retention than sokker. Maybe we should allow newbies get 3 months of free suppoter to promote the game and its qualities. Something has to be done to attract new managers.

people in the US have to start caring about soccer. Which is hard when you are busy losing to Nigeria in the Olympics.

yes, I know, a red card in the 3rd minute. Didnt see the match, the ref probably rigged the result.

As long as (American) football, basketball, hockey and even baseball (go figure) is considered a more prestigous sport than soccer, the USA will loose to countries like Nigeria, where Soccer is THE sport. No rigging required!

I see a lot of kids play soccer, but as soon as they hit high school age, soccer is not "cool" enough anymore. When I play (recreationally) with colleagues of my American company, Americans are the minority on the pitch (if they are there at all)!

hattrick has been around so sokker has to sell their product better. Three months should be sufficient for them to enjoy the game and its features, then maybe managers might enjoy the game more and want to stay. Anything to become more popular than the others.

They should be playing more but unfortunately it's not about the game its about the pay. good athletes gavitate to higher paying sports

Salaries are comparable for soccer players. They just have to go to Europe to get paid.

how bout you people have friends. ive recruited about 10 active users here

my friends care less about soccer then I do.

I'm personally responsible for 4 other active owners here in the US. Try to get more on the bandwagon whenever I can.

There is another incentive, how about a month free of supporter for every new manager that stays at least 3 seasons.
2008-08-15 16:55:09
how many ppl will have "friends" sign up and just log in (for them) once in a while for the free supporter :)
2008-08-15 16:56:13
Different idea - give every new team free supporter for a month.

my friends dont really like soccer either, but they like the idea of this game, sort of the same way you do, so thats not really an excuse

Ok reduce the months, we have to start something hopefully, there wil be more managers that stay that is the goal.

I guess my friends aren't hardcore sports sim players like I am. :/

Half the reason I play these games is because my computer can't handle the actual 'normal' MMOs out there. At some point, probably around Christmas, I'll finally have money to upgrade and build a new machine. after that, my gaming time will have to be reallocated for sure. Will scale some stuff back, although Sokker won't change much. I barely make time for it now :)
