Subject: Really dumb system

2008-09-09 00:38:59
i've always agreed with that, though i can understand the frustration of some of the c league guys who are watching new teams get dropped in to b league and they don't get a chance to promote because they can't beat the one team in front of them every season...

Fairly simplistic, your opinion is, I'd say.

The goal of the promotion system should be, in principle, to get the best teams into B. While you can never have a perfectly just system and some luck is always involved, the current system isn't even remotely just.

Exactly, and if you don't autopromote or win your qualifier then you probably are not 1 of the best teams are ya?

You're right :-)

Dude, I'm saying the best of all C-leaguers will autopromote/win their qualifier and be a B-leaguer next season.

as for who actually makes the playoffs as you said before, no system is always just and there needs to be a little luck.

i don't think you can penalize any one teambecause they won an "easy" league... all they can do is play the teams they have... forget about you teams average marks... thats not a great way to judge team supremacy... you can't call him weaker cause of marks and you can't get upset cause someone else is cruising to the top of a league with a few walkovers... all you can do is play within the system.. this gets brought up every season or two and as someone who suffered from you dilemma (i was in c for several seasons, and stuck behind one team for three straight) all you can do is win.. cause you're not going to change the system and once your up in B you'll realize how valuable all the time in C really was.

"... forget about you teams average marks..."

forgotten

"...cause you're not going to change the system..."

That unfortunately is true.

can you imagine the constant mutation this game would have to go through ever time someone didn't like the way it worked?... it would lack consistency and NO ONE would enjoy it...

i wasn't saying "you're not going to change the system" as a derogatory mark against the game or devs... i'm just saying whining about something isn't really going to help the situation and its just going to make you more upset... but, hey, if it makes you feel better, feel free to vent...

imagine how long it would take you to promote in poland. if ever.
2008-09-09 02:03:08
Regardless of the system, if you cant autopromote or win your qualification game you don't deserve to be in a B series.

Fairly simple really

not to mention can't win your own C league.

Although I definitely agree. I said waaay back when they expanded to 64 divisions it was the stupidest thing they've ever done. Still is.
2008-09-09 02:04:17
I'm still trying to figure out why with not one but two losses in C league, you expect to think you'd be competitive in a B league.
2008-09-09 03:41:04
no system is perfect, so we should keep all the bad systems right?

i wish you were born in north korea...
2008-09-09 03:43:44
the time in the C league is not really valuable well at least it was not for me, now maybe it was for you, but you should not equal people down (lenin tried to do that)...

who is talking about penalizing the winners of the easy leagues?
2008-09-09 03:47:19
maybe he got two red card in the defense in one of the games? just maybe..

his average team grade is very close to mine and i finished 5th in my B league which is not that weak so I think he could do fine

now the point is that the system is average and be easily changed. there are other leagues where two teams from every league (among the lowest) have a chance to promote.

i cannot understand why some of you think it is a bad idea, well some people thought that buying alaska was a bad idea
2008-09-09 03:54:43
what y'all seem to have problems understanding is:

in cases such as j23's where you only have one good opponent who happened to have a much stronger team , the only meaningful games are against this guy! one CANNOT learn anything and improve their tactics based on games vs bots.

it is true that after 3 seasons one plays 6 games that he can learn from - wow, that is really cool, especially that 3 seasons is almost a freaking year!

dont you think it would be better to have more human opponents or to have more shots at the B league?

i think it would but i guess some of you do not.

by the way did you also benefit a lot from repeating your third grade?
2008-09-09 03:58:10
You're right, but...

"...can you imagine the constant mutation this game would have to go through ever time someone didn't like the way it worked?... it would lack consistency and NO ONE would enjoy it..."

The devs are mutating the game themselves, e.g. changing the way newbies are assigned.

"...i wasn't saying "you're not going to change the system" as a derogatory mark against the game or devs... "

neither was it my intention

"...i'm just saying whining about something.."

that's a cheap shot. Since when is proposing changes and supporting them with same arguments whining.

"... isn't really going to help the situation and its just going to make you more upset... but, hey, if it makes you feel better, feel free to vent..."

vent I must since I am really p....d. It will last about two more days. After that the forum is yours again.

"...imagine how long it would take you to promote in poland. if ever..."

Actually, a fellow in Poland I know, who started playing 5-6 weeks ago in Klasa A (lowest) finished second and I believe he is going to a playoff game.

I don't think you folks understood my point. If you aren't good enough to win a division at any league, chances are you get promoted and flogged at the next level up. Better to make sure you dominate your current competition first, even if it means putting off a promotion for a few months.
