Jon is a fiscal mentor, not a tactical one. If anything, I mentor HIM on tactics, although most of the time he's too lazy to make the changes I suggest anyway :)

We finished both with 37 points and I won our duel, yet he is 1st??? It makes much more sense in situations like this that score in your duel be the tiebreaker, and not GD.

which makes more since, using GD so that promotion and qualifiers can be determined in a couple of minutes? or have the DEVs sit around and figure out WHO really is # 1 in all 12,600 series in the sokker world?

The promotion rules are simple to understand. The values that matter are points and goal difference. I beat you on goal difference, hence the league is mine.
I've played a full season plus a couple games. In that time I've focused on training and buying players as well as my strategy. Goal difference matters; for promotion and relegation.
My advice is keep working out the kinks with your strategy. And you might want to score a few more goals next season.
