dazzad [del] to All
Hi, I am dazzad from England.

I am standing for election for the USA national team and very much hope you will vote for me. I have played Sokker now for over two years and in that time have built a good team _ LA Gunners FC - playing in Div III in England after gaining promotion early on.

I would like the honour and challenge of leading a national side and USA seem to be a good option for me. I like to study the opposition for their tactics and spend quite a lot of time scouting players anyway so that time could be useful to the national team.

I won't make any rash promises but I would hope that I could improve USA's fortunes and get up the world rankings.

Any questions, please ask.

Why do you call french fries "chips?" It seems strange to name a fried potato after a bad 70's TV show.

Better than naming them after the French for some reason!
2008-09-19 14:22:54
You got a very good point.

WRONG!

According to Wikipedia -

The straightforward explanation of the term is that it means potatoes fried in the French sense of the verb "to cook", which can mean either sautéing or deep-grease frying, while its French origin, frire, unambiguously means deep-frying: frites being its past participle used with a plural feminine substantive, as in pommes de terre frites ("deep-fried potatoes").[4][5] Thomas Jefferson, famous for serving French dishes, wrote exactly the latter French expression.[4][6][verification needed] In the early 20th century, the term "French fried" was being used for foods such as onion rings or chicken, apart from potatoes.[7][8]

The verb "to french", though not attested until after "French fried potatoes" had appeared[citation needed], can refer to "julienning" of vegetables as is acknowledged by some dictionaries,[9] while others only refer to trimming the meat off the shanks of chops.[10] In the UK, "Frenched" lamb chops (particularly for serving as a 'rack of lamb') have the majority of the fat removed together with a small piece of fatty meat from between the ends of the chop bones, leaving mainly only the meat forming the "eye" of the chop attached.

Ok, thanks for the lesson, but:

What about "French Kiss"?

Isn't that named after the French? Why give them the credit?

french fries are very important to american users. Why is it that you think our interests are not vital to our selection of a leader of our national team?
