..and of course it dropped to adequate after that match, therefore, their talent remains unknown.

I pulled 4 juniors this past week..

One was a keeper with very decent skills..18 yrs old...

Sold him for 30k. I think in the old days, I would have gotten a bit more then that.

Solid keeping, solid pace, good passing.

nope, 3 popped and the other 2 stayed the same.

Its not rocket science, there will be some irregularities. Beginning skill minus ending skill divided by weeks in school still equals talent. Is it exact? No, but then it doesn't need to be either. BECAUSE YOU KNOW HOW FRICKEN OLD THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beginning skill minus ending skill divided by weeks in school still equals talent.

That may be biased. Initial and final skills may be randomly skewed. For instance, if the initial skill estimate is high and the final skill estimate is low you'll get a lowered estimate for his talent. Just do linear regression, every calculator can do it, and you'll get a good talent value.

I just like this added degree of uncertainty and as Dag said: YOU KNOW THEIR AGE!!!!!

Same player, one taken with plus the other with sokker manager. Its obvious the player has talent. My best guess at this point 4.0, could be a little less. Probably came into the school 1 level higher than my coach thought which would mean 4 pops in 12 weeks.

Example 1

Example 2

All my juniors are terrible.... although I have one interesting player that I need help for.

His name is Virgil mcCathy and he's been playing consistently above a 35 rating, each game he has been improving. Last game he played a 47 as center defender. His talent is very good, been there for 9 weeks, started as good, dropped to adequate and he popped 3 times. ( once 5 weeks ago and once the last 2 weeks each). Should I get excited or does anyone notice that ratings are not accurate and this 18 yrs. old would be a bust? He's 20 weeks away.

Don't pay attention to ratings.

3 pops in 9 weeks is pretty good, the longer he is in your school the more accurate you will be able to judge his talent.

And since the new system doesn't have accurate readings...
They could be a whole level worst when they come out.
Which would make them a 4 week talent in the old system, which isn't bad...but it's not accurate, so what if I had a 5 week talent, a 5 week is a good player to train still...but if people aren't sure that he actually is 5 week talent...I'll get less money for him when i sell him.

This is the way how to get more accurate talent for new JS:

Uh.....

oh come on, even a 13 year old girl from east LA can figure that out.
