Subject: NT vs Brazil
We face Brazil in the second round of the world cup.
Its a knockout competition from here on in, so I really can't afford any mistakes. Initial tactics have been set, may make the odd tweak, but I am happy with the concept and think it should work well.
We have some issues with poor form, injuries and suspensions particularly in midfield. Our defensive midfielder options have been decimated and I am left struggling to fill the places in the team, its a real struggle. If we can scrape through this week we will get Jamal Morgan and Rich Greer back. We will need more than a little luck to make our low form midfielders Lonnie Lucas, Cal Clinton and Ian Whittaker useable at any point during the competition.

I would use him as a winger if he was in form, but he has never been in any kind of form since I took over. Not sure if he has even played a single match.
We have a great first XI, but there are some real issues with squad depth so with a few injuries/low form you would probably be surprised at the quality of player (or lack of) that I will field.

Never, its been like this for weeks now and it hasn't caused too many problems.
The players available will probably not be quite up to Brazil's standard, but I would still expect to win and fairly comfortably. If I fail to do that my tactics will have failed, which is my fault.

haha. good to hear. i don't want my prediction to be far off.
well be fine as long as they dont use TOM DIZZLE
I have two USA midfielders that are not quite NT material, but you may want to look at them. Can I send you their skills?
Won via a big slice of luck against Brazil.
My tactics were pretty poor I reckon, attempted to be a bit too clever with my strikers and just succeeded in making them very ineffective! Brazil losing a central defender won me the match, suddenly my strikers had more space and I could create clear opportunities.

No one remembers that in a few weeks:)
Luck is important in this game. Imo it´s useless to use strikers like Phil did, but this time he won and that`s what counts.

The idea with the strikers was filled with good intentions, but as you correctly point out it was not very effective. Luckily for me I get another chance next week and I will try to come up with a tactic that can win without needing to rely on opposition red-cards!
When I was scouting the Brazil tactics it was clear to me that this was always going to be a very hard game. They play very solid tactics and with a great team, particularly in offensive areas it was always going to be a huge challenge to come up with a tactic that would allow USA to dominate the match. Hopefully next week I will face an opponent who isn't so tactically aware ;-)
