Subject: NT vs Mexico

Quarter Finals's of the world cup on Saturday and I'm feeling pretty confident that we can pick up the win, I always lose at the semi-final stage so this should be easy ;-)

Set the team, but am not yet 100% sure on the tactics, narrowed it down to 3. Will make a decision nearer the final kickoff on exactly which one I will chose.

Wish me good luck, we are only three lucky wins away from WC glory!!

Close game, but better team won. Huge step for USA NT. Congrat!

It was a nerve racking game for me, I felt like USA deserved to win, but we just seemed to want to miss our chances! Happy with the final result however, eventually the extra chances made the difference.

My tactics were pretty effective today, nice to play with a back four for a change. I figured with 2 winger injuries and against my usual back five, Chinese would almost certainly play with no wingers. I'm happy that was the case or the game could have been very different for the USA.

Congratulations Phil, I thought there may have been more interest from the US users in this?

We are a very lazy bunch when it comes to forums. Oh and I just finished digging myself out of a foot of snow.


And congrats to Phil on the win. Just finished watching it. Should be interesting for the next round to say the least =)

Pretty much getting used to talking to myself in here. Seems to be more interest in the Mexican forums and they lost!

Still, at least we have a few posters and plenty put in a prediction in the match studio prior to the game. Maybe there will be a little more interest for the semi-final match. It should be a real tough match and at my nightmare stage of the tournament. Maybe it will be third time lucky in the semi-final stages of the world cup.

Congrats on your win! Watched the game. First 15 minutes were boring and thought about closing the window, but then it got exciting. First time in USA NT history the potential is being used.

to be honest i get a bit bored by the really high level games as it is mostly about wingers and it seems that the striker always gets a header on goal if there is a cross. Bears no relation to the game i play where if i had a winger he would just hit it behind the goal every opportunity he had to cross. Plus, it's the superbowl this weekend so there's a lot of attention on that

Great win Phil. The winger was the big game breaker, kudos on the tactic choice.

Im pretty sure a few of us care about the score line, especially it being Mexico. We never would have heard the end of it had we lost.

i don't exatly remember, but i think Fro in his first campaign reached the semifinals..........i will check later.

out of curiosity, Next will be germany or Eesti....., so we will avoid Poland???
