We play a friendly with Peru in a few hours. Nothing special, just a tune up before the world cup.
Next week we play Cymru, I'll be holding out some starters and giving some others playing time.

Thanks
I'm not sure how good/bad Peru is.
I admit now I didn't scout, won't next week either.
I'm choosing not to show anything for the cup. Not that I expect to beat Italy or anything.

I guess I made that sound bad lol
Really we should be ok, Our defense just needs more TD to follow tactics better. Gave up 2 horrible goals last week.

yea
the whole "not gonna care for next week either" really added a nice touch to it as well :)

I never said anything about not caring, in fact caring is why your not seeing anything.

I misinterpreted that then

Our goal isn't to win these friendlies. Our goal is to do our best in the world cup. Scouting these friendlies doesn't move us towards our goal.
Playing a base line up with a base tactic gives the opposition no more information than they already had.

Gumm missed some key tackles late in the game. Unfortunately he is our best option.
If its ok with you maybe I will hold out some of our key guys next week? Maybe schedule an opponent we can do that with and still compete. Like Cymru?
Yea that'd be okay
I just see friendlies more as a chance to try stuff out
doesn't really give stuff away if you try out enough things over the course of lots of games
Then when you go into a WC match you have a bunch of different friendlies you can refer to and make up a new tactic or use one of the old friendly tactics and they just have to guess what you're gonna do

I guess after the hundreds of tactics I've made in my time here I've learned how to make a tactic "on the fly"
National team managers also use there home clubs for experimentation. You have to scout them too.

Gumm (...) Unfortunately he is our best option.
Then I am very curious why is he getting marks below 40%? With his skill, compare to Tarley, he should reach above 50s easily.

Gumm's defending is 3 levels higher than Tarleys. You should be looking at the Rhodes/Parkman combination with the training we talked about.
