Gumm's defending is 3 levels higher than Tarleys. You should be looking at the Rhodes/Parkman combination with the training we talked about.

so why is he getting such low marks?

he suffering somewhere else in his skills?

Sorry, I wish to keep player skills discussion to a minimum.

Hmm... Do I wrote something different? My question was that I am very curious why is he getting marks below 40%? With his skill, compare to Tarley, he should reach above 50s easily. Maybe he is not created to be a center defender?

Talking about Tarley - his time will come and you are in knowledge of his real talent ;)

I've noticed that defenders get really low ratings usually.. and it is more based towards their secondaries that contributes to getting their ratings 50+

Looks like this can be. Maybe we don't really know what secondaries are important now for defenders (like PM over pace, etc).

well I train defenders consistently, and rarely any of mine get 50+ ratings with the exception of Mark Orbeson who does have good secondaries(11 passing, 10 tech, 5 PM)

It's part of the reason why I run a 3 season cycle of training.

1season is pace
1 season of DEF
half season of tech/PM.

That way they get more rounded out, and thus yield better ratings.

Where did you get all your knowledge from? :P
