Not the most exciting qualification game today, but a must win game none-the-less.

Hoping to win by more than 5 goals.

8-1

It's a good result.

Anyway in my opinion we could play more offensive against opponents like Guatemala. For example with two wingers. There was a lot of space on both sides. Clinton causes a lot of danger. So we could score more with 2 wingers. The fifth goal proved it.

However, the defence played well and the result was good.

not to be offensive to you at all, but are you new? Or an old user returning to the game with new account etc...

how is that relevant, the guy (old or new) made a reasonable point

It's not at all relevant. I'm just curious to know who he is/might be. I meant nothing offensive towards him at all.

Well, it's a complicated story. I played sokker two/three years ago in Holland but stopped, so my account were deleted. So nobody knows me I think. A year ago I went to highschool here. I also started playing sokker. So that's why I play in USA instead of Holland. Now I'm for a period back in Holland.

ontopic : I don't wanna criticism Phil (it's known he is a great coach for the USA). I gave only my match view/opinion. And i'm curious how you think about it;)

Your views largely match mine, I think that USA were not quite dangerous enough against a fairly weak opponent. I did consider playing a back three rather than the back four, but didn't like the thought of using a back three against a half decent winger and strikers. The way I saw it, it was better to stop the opponents progressing into the USA half with a high defence, by doing that I felt I could get better pressure and perhaps create more chances.

I wasn't too disappointed with the performance, but felt that we were missing something in the final third. Perhaps if I had a better (in form) winger it would have made a big difference, there was a lot of tackles made on Cinton from the side, with a better winger this wouldn't have been possible.

I'm working hard on Presley, just updated him on the database.

I can't access the database?

That explains it. =)

I simply just took a look at your history and current league(forgive me for judging prematurely) and how you were able to draw a summary like that. That was the only reason I questioned you since not very many guys in their "second season" and still in the lowest league know about wingers. So, again. Please forgive me. =)

Back to the topic, I think you're correct anyways Fokke as the use of two wingers could have really helped exploit the fact that Guatemala isn't the strongest of teams. However, having watched Phil's tactics quite a lot with both his team and the USA NT, it's rare that he runs 2 wingers. Honestly, I don't know if I can recall him using a 2winger tactic recently at all.
