I say U21 since you know the team so well
and that's really my honest opinion, not trying to keep you from NT at all
2010-07-21 23:49:40
@ dagwood

I say you go for NT!

personally i think you should stay with the U21, for the excellent job you have done so far.

On the NT level, i really don't know what to do.

LLama probably have a better chance @ NT than u21, being the players more complete

I hadn't looked at it that way, thanks Dio. Not sure I agree or not. I'm drunk right now and my worst decisions come when i'm drunk so I'll sleep on it and try to respond in the morning.

as it stand now 2 for u21 and 1 for NT

chime in now or forever hold your peace.

amen

tada

If there was a really experienced manager running for the NT I would say stay with the U21's since you've done such a good job there, but right now there isn't any candidate running for the NT that I would vote for.

I say go for it.

Ahhh I know the text is small but I think you missed my name

Also I think a good point was brought up above that the NT has more well rounded players while U21 would almost take more experience (that Dagwood has) since those players skills are more of a lower level team and require more knowledge of where they fit best and creating tactics that play towards the players skills rather than tactics that godly players can play with (like NT)

Sorry mate, I didn't mean any offense I just don't think you are ready.

I think you'd make a great scout or assistant for what it's worth.
2010-07-22 07:01:41
I can respect your opinion

I just think my enthusiasm/willingness to sit down for hours and hours and watch our NT matches (even when I'm not the coach) hopefully can make up for some of that lost experience.
2010-07-22 08:19:31
i agree with uriah that you'd make a great assistant and I also believe you aren't ready for the senior NT with your kind of passion you'd do a great amount of help to the NT coach, maybe you should first be an assistant and get some experience and then consider running....
2010-07-22 08:37:45
Well I was going to help be an assistant for Phil but he needed more of someone to scout and stuff and I didn't have plus.

Also when I did contact him (cause I had finals during the beginning) to help update the database and stuff he didn't respond (though he had said earlier I could be an assistant)

so after that I just started giving my opinion after games

well for you to get my vote you'd either have to be an experienced player and be at least in the A league or have some NT experience. You can't just say you are ready for the NT when you haven't even used NT caliber players or have any experience with any NT. Maybe you should get plus this sesason and help whoever is NT coach and learn from their mistakes because if you become a coach and you suck you wont get support for any future NT elections.
2010-07-22 09:21:37
That's why I'm going for the if I suck this season don't ever vote for me again logic

Like someone said in my thread, people seem to care a lot around election time but throughout the season it really doesn't seem like anyone in the US cares or even really watches the games.

I was the only person who really would sit there, watch the games, and then give feedback about them.

I also think that just because someone is in A league doesn't mean they are a better coach than someone in B league. I think that is BS and while it does take experience and skill (and time) to get to A league, I think it also takes good money management/junior management/luck.

There are a lot of times I lose money on players, or I buy a player to train and he gets hurt for 25 days a few times in a row and I don't gain or I upgrade my stadium too big or there are a lot more factors than simply coaching. That's what I really want to do and that is why I left hattrick and came here, because here you actually make the tactics for every player and every detail and i love that.

Also this is dags thread so yay!! Go Dag! you da best!!! U21 all the way woot!

Any more comments about me I request are moved into my thread

as far as I can tell Llama is the only US person enthusiastic about doing the job. If anyone else stands now it's basically because they dont want him doing it and I don't think this is a good reason. The guy has been religiously watching the NT games and discussing the matches with phil and dagwood all season. As far as I'm concerned he's worth a season having a go at the job. If he's shit (and he may well be shit), then we vote in someone else next year when maybe someone else will actually want the job........
2010-07-22 17:18:41
I didn't expect this to be such a hard decision

Looks to me Llama and Dio want me to stay U21, Llama said in the beginning he wanted u21 and only choose NT cuz I was running for U21. Which leaves Dio, and I really respect his opinion. He is the minority here thou so I'll be switching my campaign to NT.

I'll skmail Dio right away and ask him to change the thread title, also will resign u21 and apply for NT.

Thanks

Ok with that out of the way I think its appropriate to start talking about the NT. Phil has advanced us to the next round. I have not looked to see if we are a 3 or a 4 seed. Either way we are likely to end up in a tough group and I believe 1 friendly for me to prepare.
